Well, the Wii has finally gone under...

You know, despite all of the system's flaws (too much shovel ware allowance, a lack of ports, etc) this article actually shows how the Wii was still a game changer in some ways. It's kind of admirable to see Nintendo still take risks like the Wii, instead of going for high edge graphics they went with what they were best at.

So, while I won't say it's my favorite console I will miss the Wii.

Here's hoping the Wii-U will get better sales as time goes on.

I will miss the Wii, even though I have one already built into the U, and my Wii system in the bedroom. Actually, no I won't miss it. Because I love the U so much. i will not miss motion controls, I am glad that Nintendo is finally making their games on regular controllers that use the Classic pro.

Yes I was a fan of the Wii, but as time goes on,w hen your playing Skyward Sword, and you gotta swing the wii remote to make a move, it get's old and I just kept thinking, why can't I just use a regular controller?

Never had a Wii, so I missed out on a lot of good titles. I still want to play the two Galaxy games and hopefully will if they come out for the Wii U or its successor.

I did always root for the system as a diehard Nintendo fan. I'm glad that it was successful enough to fund the Wii U.

Well the U is back words compatible so I don't think Nintendo will ever be re-releasing Galaxy. They even did a major udpate for the Wii U that allows you to watch the games on your little 7 inch gamepad and aim the Wii Remote at your gamepad rather than your tv. I think the Galaxy series is done since they are looking more into the "Mario 3D" titles now.

The Wii isn't quite done yet; I think they haven't stopped the North American run, and are even now bringing the Wii Mini to the States.

Ultimateemail5000: An HD re-release of Galaxy would be glorious, though. Easy money.

Heck, they'd probably drive Wii U sales if they just allowed it to do what Dolphin does and display Wii games in HD.

Relevant: Nintendo is releasing the Wii Mini at $99.99, which is boxed with Mario Kart Wii. Excellent package for any Nintendo fan looking to grab a replacement or gift for a friend.
