Goldeneye Wii

Postby ultimateemail5000 » Fri Nov 05, 2010 5:08 am

Let's face it, Goldeneye for the N64 is the number one greatest first person shooter game ever made. It went beyond anything, and started a new generation for first person shooters. Nearly 14 years since it's release, the rights have been up in the air, James Bond video game rights were then given to EA, who basicly manipulated the video game franchise.

EA released Goldeneye Rogue Agent for the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, and the DS. I only played the DS version, and it was terrible. They basicly took the name Goldeneye, thought it would sell, and made...a disaster.

In 08 Activision had the rights to the James Bond video game franchise, the folks behind Call of Duty. They released Quantom of Solace in 08 in October or November, to me IMO, this game was the true sequel to Goldeneye. It had the same mechanics, but better, and it got the job done. Rumor had it they were going to make a 007 racing game, until earlier this year Goldeneye 2010 was leaked to the internet. Fans were curious, until E3 the big secret was revealed, James Bond is back, and this time we get Daniel Craig in Goldeneye 007 (Wii.)

I just bought this game Tuesday night and played it for many hours, less then 24, and have already played through the entire game on the easiest mode.

Eurocom takes the original Goldeneye story, but revamps for today's James Bond generation. Daniel Craig has replaced Brosnan, but Judi Dench remains as M. There is absolutely still no Q anywhere. If you don't know the Goldeneye story, then you should go rent/buy/download Goldeneye now, and or buy yourself the new game exclusively on the Wii and start playing.

Most of the levels in this game are the same concept as the original 64, but brand new. The layouts are different, but stay true to the movie, and the original video game. They beefed up a few things as well as the gadgets, Bond no longer uses his watch(though still wears one) everything now is based on his cell phone which is like a droid of some sort. Bond's energy now restores itself slowly after taking damage. The game also has fight scenes that react if you hit the right button in time and, I have to admit, a very erotic first person fight between Bond and Xena.

Just like the original Bond game, it goes up to 4 player split screen, or you can go online with up to 8 people. I haven't really played much of the online since I suck at online shooters. But from what I've seen most of the original unlockable extras are included, or unlockable.

I'm not the greatest at making reviews but if you were growing up in the day and played Goldeneye with your friends for countless hours in multiplayer, or enjoyed the story mode, this game is for you. If you don't like Daniel Craig, give it a chance, it's really worth it.

I give Goldeneye an 8.5 out of 10
