Scapelli or Scarpelli?

I'm just nitpicking now, but this is really bugging me...

I've been watching the movie on an endless loop in the background all day and I've come to notice that when Scapelli makes his entrance he says "I'm Anthony Scarpelli, I'm the boss elsewhere..." it's subtle, but if you listen closely, it definitely sounds like he says "Scarpelli," which according to an early draft is his name and was later changed to "Scapelli," no "R." It's the only instance in the movie where the word "Scarpelli" appears, but it definitely sounds like that's what he says.

Could it be that at this point in time Parker Bennett had already been rehired and possibly directed this one scene and didn't know about the change from "Scarpelli" to "Scapelli?"

He definitely says Scapelli, but as "Scah-pelli," with a drawing out of the "ah" and emphasis on the "peh" due to his accent.

It just sort of makes you wonder. I bet there's a million other little things like this throughout the movie, like how they have the "Koopa the Sensitive" and "Koopa the Sportsman" posters hanging around the city and yet no one in (at least the current cut of) the movie ever mentions Koopa's apparent split personality.

I think those are just propaganda posters. But then, Koopa never even seemed to want to try and even pretend to be a nice guy, even for his own gain (him pretending to be Larry Lazzard notwithstanding; he dropped that act very quickly, though), so him posing for friendly-looking propaganda posters does seem out of character.

Part of it was a dropped idea that this was how Dinohattans practiced democracy: voting for a certain aspect of Koopa, yet always getting the same guy.

In short, there was only one right answer, and you got more of the same no matter who you voted for.

Oh, it's abundantly clear that was the point. The question is: Were any scenes regarding the posters filmed?

Yes. In Parker's ADR revision notes (or rewrites, I can't remember which) is a scene with Koopa and his "campaign advisor" taking place right before his introduction in the finished film.

That's good to know, just more to put in the director's cut!
