Hi everyone!
I am a big movie nerd, and have many a fond memory of the movies I've seen over the years. One of your members reached out to me after reading my blog, Oh My God, Rewind That!, and they thought it might be fun to re-post my article here for you guys to check out.

As you'll see, I'm not exactly a gamer or the biggest fan of Super Mario Bros., but it's about what I remember most from the movie.
Hope you guys enjoy and keep reading!

Re: Oh My God Rewind That!
Great seeing you re-post this, especially after over a year! We really dropped the ball there...
I suppose my original comments on your blog still stand, though I'll now take into consideration your statements about not being too much of a gamer or that familiar with the Super Mario games.
The review isn't terribly big on details or opinion, but it's still a decent enough read and completely fun. The only thing I can really comment on is where you state that you thought "There's no fungus in the video game, what is this?"
Fungus is deeply entrenched in the themes of the games, with the Mushroom, 1-Up Mushroom and Poison Mushroom (as well as a myriad of other types introduced later) being series staples since the first game. In addition, Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 and World featured beanstalk/fungus-like vines that you could climb.

Happy to re-post it, and glad you found it in the first place! And of course, mushrooms=fungus, I can't believe I didn't even think of that. But then, I was a kid when I saw the movie, and I wrote the post without re-watching the movie (something I should reconsider for future posts) or playing the game.

If you're in the L.A. area we'll be hosting a screening for the film. You're more than welcome to attend, if only to write an updated version of your review.
Re: Oh My God Rewind That!
I actually am in the L.A. area. When is the screening?

Well, that's a surprise!
We're holding it at midnight on May the 25th. The event will feature costumes, props and effects while some of the cast/crew will attend. It's the film's first screening ever, so it's definitely an opportunity not to be missed. You can check out THIS topic for more information as it comes.

Nice review. I disagree in that I absolutely love the movie, but still your review was funny. I actually lol'd when I saw the picture of Koopa's face and the caption you added along with it.
