Super Mario Bros. Sequel Ideas

Hello fellow Super Mario Bros. fans,

This post is here to put your imaginations to work. As we all know, Super Mario Bros. unfortunately never had a remake or sequel. We were left wondering in anticipation of what the next film might be about. Daisy left us hanging when she burst into the Mario's Brooklyn apartment with a flamethrower and singed/burnt pants. So my topic and question for you all is:

What villain or sidekick could have put Princess Daisy in this state, and what would the state of Dinohatten be like after the monarchy and overthrow/murder of King Koopa, and with possibly a new threat/villain to the Mario brothers, and the citizens of our parallel dimension, Dinohatten? Respond below with your thoughts and ideas! I'd love to here them!

There are countless sequel ideas, hell even prequels, and a fan screenplay remake of the movie. I don't think we're running out of ideas.

Wow, maybe I should look into that a little more! Haha! Well, let's switch it up and say:

Who would be some worthy new modern actors/actresses for the roles of Mario, Luigi, Daisy and King Koopa? Or would you prefer to stick with the originals? (Dennis Hopper being the exception R.I.P. )
