Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
Not only is Super Mario Bros. a movie of the 90's, but the Soundtrack definitely is as well. I was so excited to see that there were copies available of the soundtrack on Amazon, and got on it right away and ordered one ASAP. I listen to the songs all the time, and was wondering if any of you have the CD, and what your favorite song from the track listings is? If I had to choose, I think I would pick Walk The Dinosoaur by George Clinton & The Goombas. It's a great remake with a Mario twist of the original by Was (Not Was).
Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
I don't necessarily have the soundtrack, but I've always been fond of Roxette's 'Almost Unreal'. I have the MP3 and listen to it all the time.

Oh yes! A classic! It makes me feel overjoyed, yet a little saddened for some reason whenever I listen to it. The music video is great too. I love the guitar solo in the middle of the song too. I get chills every time! Haha!
Did you know that Roxette wanted to use the song for the Disney movie 'Hocus Pocus'? It makes sense considering the lyrics "I love when you do that 'Hocus Pocus' to me". Haha! I love learning little fun facts like that!

My favorite song in the movie is definitely "I Would Stop the World," by Charles and Eddie.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

Also a great. I love that scene at the Boom Boom Bar. But then Lena just had to come and snatch the meteorite piece!

The Boom Boom Bar actually had a cut sequence in which Mario and Luigi would duck and weave through the dancing crowd in an attempt to match the movements, all while Iggy and Spike rap an anti-Koopa song. It would have been great to see more from one of the best moments of the film.

Absolutely. I saw the rap lyrics from the deleted scene on the Archive website. That would have been great to see on the big screen. I'm sure it would have been a hit.

I did actually. Though now I can't associate it to anything other than Mario lol. But it does make sense considering the lyrics. I heard that one of the band members was upset over the change.

Yeah, but I'm glad they made the change! It's one of the better songs on the CD in my opinion.

Hey Andrew, do you have the actual soundtrack soundtrack? Like with all of the Alan Silvestri stuff? I found it recently. It's pretty awesome!

I do not. I think it would be a really cool thing to own though. I've listened to the tracks on YouTube, but never heard it off of a hard copy in person. And I agree, it is AWESOME! I really enjoyed the farewell score that Phlibbit posted on his YouTube channel.

Soundtrack CD and cover scans now available on the site.
I had to find a way of downloading the Alan Silvestri stuff as I don't think they actually officially put it up for sale. It's a shame, cos I'd buy a physical copy if they had.

I have the soundtrack! It's great!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
I almost wish tehre was a version of 'Almost Unreal' that starts out exactly as it does in the movie itself.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
I always wondered why there were literally two different versions of the soundtrack. Some had 10 songs, which is the one I bought in '93 and eventually re-bought in 2002, while others had 12 songs with one by Tracie Spencer and an additional track by Roxette. I guess this has never really been explained, especially since neither song are in the film.
"Here we go!" - Mario
Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
I always thought it had something to do with which region the soundtrack was released. It seems like outside the US there were the two additional songs.
Maybe one of us should try to track down the answer

Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
I've actually have two different versions of the soundtrack. One is the USA version and the other one I have is printed in Holland so it's a European release. The only difference is it has these two extra tracks on it.
Track 11 Don't Slip Away by Tracie Spencer
Track 12 2 Cinnamon Street by Roxette
2 Cinnamon Street isn't in the movie it's a bonus Roxette track, which in my opinion is a pretty good song. I think it's unfortunate though that Frankie Yankovic's version of Somewhere My Love isn't on any of these (the song the Goombas dance to if you didn't know). I also have the U.K. single for Roxette's Almost Unreal. It has four tracks on it which are:
1: Almost Unreal
2: The Heart Shaped Sea
3: Fingertips '93
4: Almost Unreal (AC Mix)
Last on my list of Super Mario Bros. music I do own the wonderful score by Alan Silvestri. This thing was printed in limited quantities, I have Number 459 of 500.

There isn't any way that you can upload the soundtrack score or e-mail it to anyone is there?

Well, unfortunately I don't have a reliable computer at this time... I'll try and see what I can do in the near future and I'll let you know as soon as I get it done.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack
On another note dealing with the score I ran across this CD at Hastings today while I was out window shopping. It was just some random CD I saw sitting on the shelf. I didn't really have the money to buy it, but as soon as I do I'll snag it up. I found it strange and surprising that there was actually a track from Alan Silvestri's Score on it. If you look at the CD cover you can spot three Goombas in the cover art.
