Walk the Dinosaur / John Leguizamo Connection

Postby AndrewTheBeatnik » Fri Aug 10, 2012 12:49 am

John Leguizamo (Luigi) plays as Sid the Sloth in the Ice Age movies. In the movie 'Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs', Queen Latifa who also starred in the movie covered the song 'Walk the Dinosaur' and in 'Super Mario Bros.', George Clinton covered 'Walk the Dinosaur'. So John Leguizamo has been in two different movies that have used two different covers of the same song. Coincidence? I think not. Haha jk. I think it's totally a coincidence. Just thought I would point it out as a cool little fun fact.

Haha... Nice find. Not as spectacular of a coincidence, but I loved seeing John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper together again in Romero's Land of the Dead.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

It's good to see someone else finally made that connection other than me after seven years.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

People seriously underestimate Leguizamo as an actor. I suppose he's just not as marketable as the flood of pretty white boys we have in teen-aimed flicks these days, but at one point he was a very cute guy with some real acting chops. He's only gotten better.

No matter how hard he tries to get away from the Mario movie, it will always follow/haunt him. Walk the dinosaur is a good way to show it. Though I don't think him and Hopper being in Land of the Dead was haunting for him, but atleast they probably got together and was like, hey remember how shitty working on Mario Bros was? Then they laugh, do drugs, drink beer, and go act.

And we all know how much Dennis Hopper loved his cocaine. This was Dennis Hopper before "Super Mario Bros."...

Yeah, I heard that they were in that together and I've been meaning to watch it. I saw that it's instant streaming on Netflix. Is it worth watching? If it isn't I probably will anyways because of John and Dennis :)
