And I saw a display case that had a little mention of the Super Mario Bros. movie. It displayed all of Nintendos game systems and it had the DVD of the SMBmovie plus a couple of action figures tied to the movie. Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera so I couldn't take pictures but I just thought I would throw it out there if you ever visit Nintendoworld.

I was there for the Wii U launch, and I actually did take pics. I haven't had time to post my article about my trip, though, which is when I was going to show those off.

Is it just me or does this look like Nintendo's Hall of Shame? I mean they have the failed Wizard, SMB movies together with the SMBSS, Captain N., Zelda, then next to that they the Virtual Boy (i actually own one and found my copy of the only good game for it, Wario Land).

It all just looks like a coincidence that they put the things that failed and or embarrassed of on the same shelf.

I never thought of The Super Mario Brothers Super Show as one of Nintendo's 'downs,' considering it ran for several years and was followed by two further incarnations, The Adventures of Super Mario Brothers 3 and The Super Mario World. They're all out on DVD in their entirety, except maybe the latter.

SMBSS may not be a down but more embaressing to them. Same with Captain N, the Zelda cartoon. That hour and twenty minute commercial movie for SMB3 movie The Wizard. They were all sell out decisions which is everything Nintendo won't do anymore after their mistakes. Why do you think there hasn't been a new movie, or T.V. series? Because they were hugely successful?

Nor I, but apparently Nintendo feels a little differently. I think the store exhibit is all employee stuff, though. At least, that's what they told me. Incidentally, there was a really nice R.O.B. (or "Robot") watch from Japan that I would absolutely die for.

Also, The New Super Mario World (actual title) did make it to DVD, along with its companion season of Captain N.

When it was in-house, or after it became a Future publication? Either way, I guess... we still had things we were and weren't really allowed to talk about, but I think it was usually more writer's opinion than an official stance.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! did only have a one or two year run (I think it had one year of reruns before going Club Mario... I forget the exact timeline), then there was The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and The New Super Mario World. Honestly, I'm curious how they might have kept it going had NBC not killed off their children's programming in favor of teeNBC (i.e. Attack of the Saved by the Bell Clones). A Super Mario Kart cartoon could have rocked.

I'm doubtful, or at least a little skeptical. Nintendo wasn't doing new Mario games, save Super Mario Kart, and NBC killed their children's programming to go for the teen demographic. It was probably more business than anything.

Yep; Family Channel ran the whole DiC lineup of Nintendo cartoons for a while after their initial airing. SMB4 was, of course, the original name for Super Mario World, so I guess that copy was written well in advance of NOA dropping it.

As for Mario All-Stars, I only remember Super Show episodes being paired with World-- which disappointed me, as SMB3 was my favorite of the trilogy. Wikipedia says that The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was only used in the promos, strangely enough.

I wouldn't trust Wikipedia. I always saw it with SMB3 and SMW. I never liked the SMW cartoon but I enjoyed SMB3 better. Not really "trusting" Wikipedia so much as checking to see if it matched what I remembered, which it did. Even the intro left out TAoSMB3. Super Mario Wiki corroborates my version, too, complete with episode listings.

I am very sorry to everyone, I always think that the edit button is the quote button. Anyway what I said and accident added it to Serums response.

They will make anything up, I have seen countless mistakes and false information in Wikipedia on some very random stuff, including cartoons. I am not saying it is wrong about All-Stars, I am just saying what the All Stars I would watch everyday had SMB3 and SMW. I even remember in the intro they didn't show Mario 3, but it was was the first half of the show. The intro started with SMBSS cartoon intro, and when they went into the drain I believe it would show bits of Mario World intro.

That seems like the only reason somebody would make stuff up about it, there's a lot of mixed memories from broadcasts gone by, I don't think anybody is going to go out of their way to create elaborate lies about the show or purposefully defame a children's cartoon that hasn't seen airtime since 2002.
