Hello! I'm Dave, and I do silly things on Youtube sometimes.
I also happen to have loved the Mario movie when I saw it as a kid, and had absolutely no idea that the world at large disliked it until the internet happened. I'm interested in why that might be, why I loved it while other kids in my same situation hated it, so I'm going to be putting together a video exploring what factors might have been different, what conditioning led me towards liking this film that other kids might not have shared. I'm also going to talk in defense of the film against a few of the weaker criticisms (such as "it isn't like the games" or "Luigi doesn't have a moustache") which tend to shut down any good discussion of a film I like.

OK, so, the reason I'm posting here is because I'd like to get your help with this video. I realised you guys might be able to remind me of things I've forgotten to mention, come up with topics you'd like to hear me talk about, correct me on my badly-researched facts, things like that.
This video is intentionally going to be LONG, maybe split up into several parts, because I really want to cover everything I can, almost like a little documentary. Because of that, the writing of it is a bit daunting, there's a lot to sort out, and even though I didn't feel like I'd finished writing, I realised it might be time to run what I've already got past someone and get some feedback.
SO! What I've done - and I've never tried this before, so it's a bit of an experiment - is I've recorded myself reading out the draft version of the script. I'll warn you it's long, 50 minutes long, especially since it's an unedited draft version, but I'm hoping you'll be interested enough in the subject matter that it won't be too much of a slog to listen to. Put it on while you do some housework or drive to the office or something.
If you've got time, have a listen to this, and then tell me any feedback you might have, any ideas about topics I should include, examples I forgot to mention or glossed over, anything you like. I can't promise to include everything you suggest, but I could really use the feedback to see how it's going. This is a big video project after all, and I don't want to just jump in blindly.
