Between Dimensions

When Mario goes through the "solid" wall into Dinohattan, he first falls screaming through some kind of between dimension void, entering through one hole in this void and traveling in a straight line into another hole directly oposite. Along the "walls" of this void are several identical entrance/exit holes. It would seem each leads to a different word or dimension. Ever wonder what some of these dimensions look like? I like to think one of them resembles Mario 2's Subcon.

The point is, given the existance of this void and the other dimensional doorways, does Koopa's tale of the creation of his homeworld make any sense? It seems much more likely that his was always an alternate reality in which man would evolve from dinosaur, and that the meteor that hit our world all those years ago didn't create Dinohattan so much as pave a path from our world to it. Not to say Koopa's lying, though God knows he's capable, this may be what he was always taught. The origins of our world are still heavily debated, why would the inhabitants of Dinohattan know any better?

According to early scripts, Koopa's world resides within a dimension parallel to ours, but within the same universe. This would mean that the "doors" you saw led to different dimensions also within the same universe.

That being said, the directors wanted to explore other universes outside of our own. We will be doing just that with our sequel comic.
