How do i put photos on here?

"She sure makes an impression?" Why was that so bad?

And no, once a movie is released, it should never be altered, unless it's for the sake of a director's cut using already finished and unused footage. You may have edited some scenes out of Ralph Bakshi's "Lord of the Rings" but you could argue that watching that movie on TNT on a Saturday with the commercials is a better experience than owning the DVD.

I do not condone the "George Lucas" treatment in any way, which to me is basically the Nazi regime of film-- altering the past.

Rodkrax wrote:Sorry for such a late reply, but yeah, i agree with you guys, movies shouldnt be altered that abruptly, but the way you guys talk about it is like ''if a movie is released, it should stay in that form FOREVAARR'' but i do have a theory that movies can be improved by tinkering here and there, nothing too dramatic.

The official stance of our site is that the film can and certainly should be improved by a re-edit. Considering the amount of material cut, from deleted scenes to alternate takes, it would be amazing to see how things could be done differently.

Luigi's line in that scene in particular has always irked me. It's one of the few that really stands out badly and inappropriately.

He says that out of nowhere, and the next shot shows him looking worried towards Lena's body, it feels very out of place.

Once i watched Super Mario Bros. on HBO family...it was awesome. But for Lord of the Rings there is a lot of stuff that bugs me. I bet everyone knows the criticism the film gets, like how they mispronounce ''Saruman'' for ''Aruman'' and how the film abruptly stops in the middle of the story, not mention, many weird stuff, AND the fact that the film should've been called LOTR Part One. I am not against keeping the film in it's original form, but if you can fix some flaws using a simple editing software, why not? besides, the original version will always be available, it's not like Star Wars, tinker with it, kill the original product.

Thanks for the reply, tough.

I'd say the worst cut footage is the extra snippit where daisy is thrown into the barracks.

It's so short and it cuts out to early.

every time I watch the movie I skip the cartoon intro.

The Ralph Bakshi version? Apparently, he wanted to do everything up to Return of the King, but somehow the rights for Return went back to Rankin/Bass.

Ralph Bakshi's great, but his Lord of the Rings was terrible.

Noticed something when Re-Watching the movie.

When the Old lady gets thrown into the Car by Big Bertha (Bouncer at the Boom Boom Bar), There is a car in the background which goes off another car and flips on its side, sending sparks everywhere.

This clip is actually played 2 times over, IN A ROW, Once, and then a second time

Here's a Link to the approximate time of when it occurs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_15v_fMqGEM#t=1751s

The Link should jump to the appropriate time, but if not, it's around 29:00 ~ish

----------------

Another one; when Toad gets arrested for singing an "Anti-Koopa Song", The police car that pulls up to arrest him actually pulls up Backwards; in reverse.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_15v_fMqGEM#t=1818s around 30:00

Show these Marios around," and then the next thing we see is the same desk clerk who booked them escorting them through the gate-- so is Mike the desk clerk's twin brother? A clone? Then this character shows up several more times as various different positions in Koopa's army. He's also the one who arrests Lena and presents Koopa with the rock.

Well, as reptiles most of the characters were probably born in whole clutches of eggs. It makes sense that some of those eggs would be identical siblings. Some of these identical siblings survive into adulthood; others, like Koopa, kill all their other nestmates. Makes sense!

I'd agree with this, however; if you look very closely, Right after The clerk tells mike to take him away, you see someone take them away who is clearly NOT the clerk; immediately followed by a shot WITH the clerk; which means (in my book) it's a inconsistency

---------

Also, I'm pretty sure everyone knows this one, but I don't think I saw it mentioned in the thread; When Toad gets De-evolved, the floor is clean. However, when Mario and Luigi push Koopa into the Devo-chair, There's suddenly slime on the floor.

The point is that "Mike" is played by the same actor doing several similar roles.

well, this scene was confusing for me for a long time:
why the Marios never recovered their hats droped by the force of the beams from the devo guns? and those guns just disapear from their hands, why?

If I recall, they throw the guns down once they've defeated Koopa. As for the hats, I think those were the last things on their minds once it was done.
