Donkey Kong?

maybe I'm the only person that ever thought of this and am reaching a bit haha

Was anyone else reminded of Donkey Kong toward the end of the movie? Mario and a monkey at the construction site?

Oh yeah, this has come to my mind so many times. Also that always went into my mind is Daniella should have been re-named to Pauline, since her character fit more of Pauline. Daniella was Mario's girlfriend, Mario's girlfriend in DK is Pauline. It's hard for me to picture Mario and Peach together, even the anime movie went that route,

SPOILER ALERT: At the end of the anime movie, Peach actually had a Prince and left Mario in the dust, atleast she did it in a nice way.

But yeah, that had to of definetly been a nod to the original DK game, Mario with a monkey on a construction site.

And no, I didn't read your spoiler. I still hope they release that movie some day in America! Not that they will, but I don't like watching movies on YouTube, especially in Japanese without subtitles.

I actually found a high quality version of the movie without the YOSHIART and some other logo on the top and bottom of the picture. The high quality one even has subtitles....for like hte first 30 minutes of the movie. The guy just stopped, I don't know why. Guess he has a life and all, damn him for it.

yeah Daniella was essentially Pauline. Wonder why they changed the name, then again we know they sure didn't have a problem changing things...
