Very first draft

I' am a little confused on these drafts that are around the internet. Is the 1991 draft that popped outta nowhere one day, the first draft? I read on a MarioWiki (because Ihave that kind of time) that the first draft involved a character whos name is Doug. I don't really trust wiki resorces since I've spotted so many errors about the movie in the wiki.

But who is this Doug character? Is it Scapelli's original name? I haven't read both drafts in a long time and wanted to ask those who remember the drafts, or know that is a fact from an even earlier draft. I'm wondering when the very first draft will appear?

Doug was PART of Scapeli's workers in his plumber career. Don't you remember in the '92 draft, he's the first new character to introduced.

You shouldn't trust MarioWiki. The articles relating to the SMB movie are bare-bones and largely ignored unless an edit threatens what people consider "true" canon (IE: their interpretation) and some have even voiced that they feel the movie doesn't "deserve" a place on the wiki. I've begun working to correct that by expanding and rewriting the articles in more simple and informative ways, though transferring the relevant info from Phlibb's site to there won't happen immediately.

Considering your confusion, a comparison-chart of the evolution of the drafts from original to finished cut would come in handy. Another project for the list, eh?

Did you not read what I said?

But yeah, I completely forgot the names of the Scapelli Bros. Is there an earlier draft than the 91 draft online now? I'd still like to read it if there is.

I did. I generally use "You" in a general sense. If the "you" is specific, I'll be sure to point out the user's name.
