MarioWiki Revamping

So I've been frequenting the Mario Wiki for the last week in boredom and really just poking around reading the different articles, making a typo-correction or more-readable format change here-and-there. I was really disappointed to see that any article relating to the SMB film was devoid of detailed information (usually incorrect) and pretty much deprecating towards it. Because of this I thought I'd take it upon myself to bring many of them up-to-date and towards a more enjoyable standard. Here's a few of the articles I've worked on, before and after:

Super Mario Bros. film (before) and Super Mario Bros. film (after)

Dinohattan (before) and Dinohattan (after)

De-evolution (before) and De-evolution (after)

Thwomp Stomper (before) and Thwomp Stomper (after)

The main film article took a lot of work. I added some sections, like References to the Games, but most of my time was spent decreasing the atrocious plot summary. It was almost as if someone sat and watched the movie, pausing and writing down each action and line of dialogue. I've managed to trim out over 22,000 characters, but I'd like a cleaner summary. I also removed the page quote due to it essentially bad-mouthing the movie.

Dinohattan was pretty unclean at first. I expanded it, creating sub-sections and putting in what I could to make it seem like a real city with people.

De-evolution was easy enough. Just explained the history of it and how it was used.

Thwomp Stompers was fun, since I was able to add some of the development artwork and better explain how they were presented in the film.


So anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know what I'm doing. Any help would be nice, but if not you can suggest things for me to work on that would make these articles better. I'm sure once the main site is completed they can become far more polished than they can now.

Oh, and a proposal is currently going through to allow the film characters to have their own pages that differentiate them from their game counterparts. We'll see how that turns out.

Nice job. I like how you cutted down most of the characters, and I like the game references page.

Most of the game references I just took from the Wikipedia page (which should remove them), but I heavily re-wrote them. I basically just edited all these pages, but to such an extent there's barely any resemblance to the original text at all.

The cutting down of the characters was a big job. I spent over a week doing it because it was just so mind-numbing. Originally, (as you can see) there were in-wiki hot-links to everything. That really dragged it down. (But, surprisingly, when the article linked Iggy and Spike eating hot dogs to "Hot Dog", there's actually an article for it! )
