A place for those who "Trust the Fungus"

I think I just found an inconsistency between the VHS and the DVD version of the movie...

In the VHS, at the end, when Luigi and Daisy kiss, Mario makes an offbeat comment:

She's trying to tell you she can't leave here until she knows where she belongs.
And if you loved her, you'd understand that, and if I had any sense, I'd mind my own business.

Whereas in the DVD, I think the kiss is actually cut from the movie, as well as Mario's thoughtful dialogue.
They just skip to her opening the portal, if I remember correctly...

Am I the only one who noticed this?

Maybe, your DVD is a different region one than what most people have. And like you said in the deleted scenes area, where your friend swroe he saw the devo scene in there, maybe they cut that out in another cut, and that's what, the dvd company for dvd got.
