Is there any songs that remind you of the SMB movie, or songs you think should have been in the movie? (The game music does not count!!!)
I allways thought this would been perfect for the pipe scene:
Songs that remind you of the movie.

Again, these choices were influenced by... why I now strongly defend the SMB movie and have even declared it my second-favourite movie (and thus I came here), but they would actually make good songs to be played at the Boom Boom Bar.

Final battle between Mario and King Koopa (including the brief world-merging scene), anyone? Actually there's a bit of a story behind this one, and again it was influenced by the same reason as the above three... so please don't hesitate to ask if you want to hear

Maybe the Bros. could be listening to this at their apartment, at the start of the movie?

I know you said the game music doesn't count - but surely you can make an exception for this great song! It could be playing as the Bros. make their way through the caves, following Daisy's voice as Spike and Iggy take her away; imagine it running through Luigi's mind as he races to rescue Daisy.

Honestly the Batman Forever score would have worked better for the SMB movie

Answering the thread exact title, I'm a huge fan of Charles & Eddie's "I Would Stop the World" we can listen to when Mario and Luigi go at the Cool Koopa (right name in original version? I'm used to the French translation there).
This is one of my best slows/love songs ever, and I made my wife love it too thanks to the movie!

The Cool Koopa? Do you mean the dance club they go to with Iggy and Spike?

Yep. How do they call that club in the original version? I watched it once in English and almost forgot everything about that version, I should watch it again.

It's called the Boom Boom Bar in English, which is a reference to the arm-swinging mini-boss in Super Mario Bros. 3. The "Cool Koopa" is a pretty cool name, however. If you're up for it you should start a thread on all the names they use in the French version so we can tell you what the English names are. It'd help with the site, too.

Actually, "Cool Koopa" is a personal audio translation I made from what I heard, because it's not very well spelt in that part of the movie. It could be "Boom Boom Bar" in the French version too...
And since it fits with Boom Boom (loved that boss in SMB3, too bad he was never used again in other Mario games), it definitely makes sense too as another reference to the Mario games universe.

Work it Harder reminds me of SMB because of it's robotic voices that ALWAYS make me think of that, "DE-EVOLVE" voice in the Devo Chamber
Also I can imagine this playing in The Boom-Boom Bar instead of "Walk The Dinosaur"
Though I wouldn't change it!
