It deserves another movie!
Following the same story as the previous they go back to save it yet again Princess Daisys best friend (and rival) Princess Peach is taken captive by Bowser JR. Who is trying to get Bowser (Koopa) out of the fungus and turned back into an evolved T-Rex. It is an idea to build upon.
Sign the petition don't just like it on facebook. It won't do anything.

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
As much as I would like to sign it: There would never be a sequel..sure, I would love one, but Nintendo won't EVER sell the rights again, as Reggie Fils Amie stated, "These characters, they are our children, we cannot give them away." So the hopes for a Super Mario Bros. 2 is VERY slim, but, I cannot wait to see the Fan-Film sequel, "Mushroom Madness"!
Aw, heck, I'll sign it anyway, it won't hurt

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
I've signed it, though I agree with KoopaBro64 that a true sequel on-film is very unlikely. Even a completely unrelated reboot is only slightly more possible. However, I do enjoy your concept for how the sequel would play out. You should consider fleshing it out and perhaps outlining the sequel yourself. I'm sure everyone here would enjoy reading what you have in mind.
Here's previous attempts at petitioning a sequel:
Super Mario Brothers Movie Sequel - 251 signatures
This movie is long overdue. The original movie obviously left room for a sequel. Mario fans unite! Rise up and let your voice be heard! Lets get this movie made.
Petition to make a Super Mario Bros. movie sequel! - 142 signatures
Ever wonder why they didn't make a Super Mario Bros. Movie Sequel? The first movie ended with a definite possibility for another one. Lets see if we can get an idea across for another one!!!

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
The reason petition fail is because the people making them don't ask for help. If you guys could please send it to you friends I would really apprecitate it. If the whole petition for a sequel doesn't work then let petition for another movie not based off of the previous. I was thinking that George Lucas could make a good director of the movie I would really like to see what he could do with it.
If It doesn't work out i'll get my friends together and we will make a movie ourselves.

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
I got a reply from the Nintendo (I sent an email) its not that great but ya know what can they do.
Here it is:
Hello Constance.
Regarding your request that Nintendo make a movie sequel to Super Mario Bros., it's worth mentioning that Nintendo is not involved in the motion picture industry. Having said that, movies based on video games get made all the time. Some recent examples include Resident Evil, Doom, and Tomb Raider. Even some of our own games have made their way to the silver screen, most notably Pokemon and Super Mario Bros.
Making movies can take a long time, but it all starts with buying the rights to make the movie. This means that if someone wants to make a movie based on one of Nintendo's games, that person would pay the company for that exclusive right over a set period of time (sometimes many years). This can happen before one word of a script is written or an actor is cast. Sometimes the movie gets made, but sometimes the time period runs out before anything substantial happens.
I haven't heard of any plans for a big-screen version of the game that you mentioned, but you never know what the future may hold, so keep your fingers crossed!
As for your ideas, we are unable to accept them.
Sincerely,
Dervin Camden

It's interesting how friendly and detailed their response was. Could you provide the text of your initial E-mail?
Re: Petition For a Sequel!
^What Redstar said. I'm interested to see what you asked.
On a related note, when I went to the Game Developers' Conference a few weeks ago, I gave a Nintendo HR rep my card and told her about the website, etc. She acted very interested and said she would try to get us an interview with someone if she could find the right person. Here's hoping.
Oh, and I was like two feet away from Reggie Fils-Amie, but I didn't get a chance to actually speak to him. What a shame!

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
Here is my email to Nintendo:
"Dear Nintendo Co.,
I know that Nintendo would probably not want to sell its rights to make a Super Mario Bros. movie. I think that the Super Mario Bros. deserve a movie and its long past the time another movie should be make. I think that the movie should either be a sequel to the one made in 1993 or it should be a completely new one. I have my ideas for a sequel and I even have an idea for who should direct the movie. I am making a petition and I hope you will follow through.
If this is not the right department I would like to know the right departments information.
Thank You,
Constance Longmore"
I replied to the reply from Nintendo and I said
"Dear Nintendo Co.,
Is there any where you could direct me to know where I can petition for a Super Mario Brothers movie?
For example does nintendo have forums?
Many Thanks,
Constance"
Which they replied with:
"Hello Constance,
Thanks for your reply. However, I'm sorry to report that we don't have a public forum like that. I also want to let you know that an online petition will not change the fact that Nintendo is not involved in the motion picture industry, regardless of how cool I think a new Super Mario Bros. movie would be. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I hope this clarifies everything for you.
Sincerely,
Alain Dao

And then I just replied with a thank you note

That's cool. I hope you decide to stick around, though. It's been good having you.

Re: Petition For a Sequel!
As much as a sequel intices me I would rather see a reboot. New adventure, new cast, new director, new everything. It's just a more realistic and optimistic goal in my eyes.

If you read one of my most recent posts it would say something about that.
