The master of the digital world has passed from this physical realm into the astral plane.
This world didn't deserve someone with his all too great potential.
Rest in peace, Steve Jobs... 1955-2011.

What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

I overheard this at work. Very shocking. He must have known his time was going to end soon, which is why he retired. Imagine how much worse Apple's stock would have fared if he had passed while still in power... The economy is bad enough as it is; Apple has done amazing things for the workforce.
He'll be missed. No one was as charismatic and creative as him.

It's a shame. The world needs Steve Jobs-- his innovation and creativity created the computer as we know it today! But like you said, he must have known he was about to die, why else would one of the most powerful men in the world step down from that kind of position? Sure, Apple had its failures (the Apple III springs to mind) but for the most part, it's been smooth sailing. I just hope that Apple won't go downhill the way Microsoft has, now.
