Well guys it finally happened. I finally over 600 posts as I'm typing this! It may not be a big deal to some people but I don't know I just feel good when I say that.

Also I think it's now been 3 years since I first posted on this site so uh, cheers I guess?

Wonderful news to hear, so congratulations...

...you bastard.

'Sall quiet on my front, though. I'll be in the 4th of July parade in Kenosha, Wisconsin--a store called My Animix opened up last year there, and they want a bunch of cosplayers for the parade. I give each one of you three guesses as to my cosplay, and the first two don't count.

That's great! I remember when you started out as a new member, so it's been amazing to see you stick around and become a forum veteran alongside so many of our other members. We've done some spectacular things with the movie as of late, so hopefully you can be here to make another 600 posts! :D

Really, I don't remember Serum being a stick in the mud. Though it was really grating to see him shove the Blu-Ray/DVD release petition down everyone's throats many times. However, I'm definetly not the one to talk in a topic about annoying people.

So whatever happened to that serum guy? Did he retire from moderating or just dissapear?

Yeah that does make sense. Besides, one time when he was still doing that whole Blue-Ray DVD Release thing I posted about how the deleted footage may have been destroyed and how rigging the rating scores on websites (even though the original scores were unfair) would probably be in vain. Serum took this very well.....by deleting my post.

Now granted, I've had posts deleted around here for a while but most of the time they were for understandable reasons like maybe the post was utterly meaningless, or maybe I was multi-posting too much, you know that stuff. But here I was only stating my opinion of how this whole release deal would possibly fail, yes it was very cynical and maybe I could've been less doom-sounding but he didn't have to outright delete it now!

However I just went to the general forum and posted the exact same thing on this thread.

So anyway, how is everyone? It's getting a little quiet around here, just like it used to be. I've been doing a Co-fan-fic with Reptile-Queen-Daisy. It's just a little KoopaxDaisy action. I may post it here or on FanFiction.net if people are really that interested.

Serum was dealing with personal issues that unfortunately led him to poorly handle his stress through the forums. He has since taken a break from the Internet to focus on his own life and is welcome back whenever he feels ready to do so.

I don't know why but when I'm told that I'm one of the most productive veteran members on the site I just feel that I've accomplished something. I just feel good knowing that I've been here since 2009 and I'm one of the few members here that are actually active.

I don't mean to brag or anything I just feel good when people tell me that.

Worst idea to ever work in a factory. I'm still a lil lost in Lowes. I have people Askin me questions about wall paint primers anwhat not. And I literary have no idea what they're talking about. Ah..memories. Remember when this site was less knwon? Remember when there was only the Site Forums, IntroductionArea, Bugs/Suggestions SMBMOVIE, Fan Works, and General Thread?

Remember when Fan Works was Fanstuff? Remember when Introduction Area used to be called Newbie Lounge? Remember when Serum was MerrittheFerret. Remember when the only known Fan Fic at the time was Serum's SMBMOVIE Fan Script?

Remember when Phibblit's copy of that 92 Sci-Fi draft was the only early draft we saw? Remember when there were only two interviews on this site? Remember when the-well I could go on.

The point is though this site's been going on for about 5 years and It's so shocking to see all the changes, additions, and so forth that's happened to it.

Anyway, Cheers. Hell, maybe in another 5 five years I'll list another set of Remember Whens?

Oh, this is a neat thread... not at all what I was thinking it would be from the title. Cool, I guess I will contribute, since it's not about bans or warnings or anything like that...

Some of you might have noticed this already, at least if you pay any attention to my signature. With some help from a friend (a lot of help, actually), I've finally gotten the fourth and (for now) final piece into place for Nyteworks.net, four sites which I run (and is pretty time-consuming, too). We have:

The Mega Man Network: The oldest of the bunch, this is a fansite and community I sort of inherited. It's also the only one with actual staff members involved, too. You can probably guess from the name what this is about.

PoisonMushroom.Org: I used to do a lot of news here, but that's since shifted and become more of a personal blog. I write about stuff, generally geeky stuff, save for Mega Man (for obvious reasons). Retro stuff, fast food culture, video games, wrestling, comic books, Power Rangers... and a fair bit of Mario seems to crop up a bit, too.

Mario's Hat: If any of you have ever followed my stuff with Examiner... well, you may have noticed that we've parted ways. I began this site back at the beginning of July to continue covering Canadian video game news-- and not just Mario, either.

The Pre-Order Blog: This one launched just this past Monday, and is all about the special bonuses you get when you pre-order video games, movies, or anything else, anywhere in the world. It's a little slow at the moment, as I'm trying to hunt down and find what all is active, but if you see something I don't have, feel free to send a tip to tips@thepreorderblog.com. Once I get caught up and more games are released, it should be smoother sailing. It's also editorial-free right now, though if I need to review something, that may change.

Redstar wrote:I bought a new rat! He's tan. Any name suggestions? :D

Splinter? Rataro? Ricky?

Redstar wrote:We bought a van. That came with a TV. And a SNES. And dozens of games. WIN

Now you can't just roll up in here and deliver news like that without any pictures! Not to mention inventory of what you got... ;P

I recently discovered little Okuni is actually a boy cat, so I renamed him Mel after a boyfriend I have. He had his 'operation' on Wednesday this week, plus him and my family's newest furbaby Jasper (a beautiful British Blue kitty whom my family had last month) are going for their shots tomorrow.

But it looks like I'm in need of a little medical attention myself - one of my teeth is very badly chipped and damaged, and when the dentist looked at it on Friday it was just as I thought: the tooth is too weak to be saved (we've repeatedly tried to have it drilled and filled), so it will have to go. Mom will book me in at my local private hospital (a private hospital is more accommodating than a regular one), and yes I will be gassed for the op since I have a severe needle phobia - but I have specified, for DAMME good reasons the operation cannot under any circumstances occur on or too close to September 25...

Well yes I've got yet another you-know-what coming up on Sept 25. These are very special to me, even more so after Jay Tavare (the Vega actor from the movie) sent me an autographed photo of himself as Vega - and the photo did in fact arrive on Jay's birthday (March 23)! Turns out my mom (who is also Facebook friends with Jay) had given Jay my home address and asked him to send me the photo. So I might as well show my eternal gratitude to Jay, no?

With regard to my usage of the word 'DAMME', I admit to an addiction to puns even for any serious stuff - my usage of the terminology 'Super' when it comes to any Mario-related stuff (like when mom and I watched the Super Mario Bros. movie, as a sort of 'send-off' to Bob Hoskins when we learned of his retirement), for example!

And the tooth? Well yes I brush twice a day (except of course if I feel too tired and end up drifting off), but sometimes I have had to had some teeth filled - worse still I had to fire one of my previous dentists for breaking a promise to never needle me (he needled me for one filling)! This tooth was one of the ones which has been filled - in fact I think this might even be the one I was needled for?

But unfortunately, no matter how hard and well I brush the tooth often chipped when I brushed it. There was one incident of pain in June, but the pain subsided in fact just as I learned I had more you-know-whats on the way at such a time (sadly the screen froze on one of them, yes I was dreadfully upset over this) - but the pain returned this week, right after I changed my toothbrush. One night I was in so much pain I didn't get a wink of sleep!

Penfold! After the dentist who will remove my defective tooth (and who also removed all four of my wisdom teeth, he removed my first two when I was 18 and the remaining pair when I was 21) - though yes I have indeed made some Dangermouse-related jokes to my dentist as well :D

You should name the rat Dennis. Or Bob. Or maybe even...........Larry. I don't know Redstar, maybe you should name it Bill. I'm terrible at names.

Also to Star Ma'm, that claim about you getting a picture from Vega's actor is pretty big news, not huge but still big. So I must come forth and say this "pics or it didn't happen".

Well are you on Facebook? If you are then I'll Friend you (and RedStar will as well if you ask him, he's on my Friend list) - I have some pics there, of the photo in the beautiful mirror frame I bought for it. Yes I chose the frame because of Vega's love of mirrors in the Street Fighter games :D

Also to let y'all know, the letter from my dentist (i.e. to alert the docs of my weak tooth) has arrived at the hospital, so next week mom will contact them to arrange the pre-op appointment (remember the operation will only be arranged after this happened).

There is also a chance the operation might be performed at the regular hospital instead of my private one, but nonetheless mom will still make sure my accommodation requirements are met - right down to no needles, and how the op will be performed on a day-release basis (we all know all too well, an overnight stay in a HOSPITAL is completely out of the question!).

As well as because of my requirements in general -or in cases like this, in General M Bison!- even my mom always tells me I can't be away too long from my very loving, very dependent cats... who yes would too give everyone an earful if my requirements be not met!

1upmushroom wrote:Wait, wait. You have a cat named M. BISON?! Ok, that's a weird name for a cat.

LOL no, but I do have a cat named Raul (after Raul Julia) - and it turns out it's just as well I named him so, as he was in fact born just after one time when the Street Fighter movie aired back in 2003! My cat Crystal also happens to be Raul's younger sister (same parents, different litter), by the way - and she's still very jealous of little Jasper, but our oldest cat Jenny is okay-ish with him.

No no no, what I meant was I'm sure you're familiar with the expression 'in general' - well with the Street Fighter movie soon to air on TV yet again, I couldn't resist the pun 'in General M Bison'. Get it? GET IT?

Plus my cats have always loved me, always been very dependent on me - and if I were ever away from my apartment too long, mom would tell me to get back home because the cats are missing me. Definitely a good reason to not stay overnight in a hospital especially for such a minor op as this, no? Both of my wisdom teeth ops (first one at 18, second at 21) were also performed on day-release

I had that done six years ago. What's the painkiller they give you for that? That stuff's awesome. Ugh, the constant bleeding and tissues in your mouth sucks, though. And the stitches feel like string in your mouth after awhile and I couldn't stop tonguing them. But, luckily, mine were the kind that fall out on their own and by the time I had my follow up, they'd all fallen out. My Mom keeps my wisdom teeth in a jar in the basement...

Yikes RedStar you should have messaged me about this on AOL - I would have gladly sent you my well-wishes! And I hope they gassed you for the surgery - as well as for the obvious pain of needles, you can't deny being forced to watch your own surgery being performed is both gross and BORING! I almost lost my appetite when mum told me about her heart surgery (she had a heart attack on November 30 last year) in Liverpool last December...

And the consultation went well and yes the surgery will take place at my regular hospital - but mum will definitely make sure my requirements are met, especially if indeed it were definitely a case of 'requirements in general, or in some cases in General M Bison'. Even mum totally agrees I can't risk missing airings of the Street Fighter movie as it'd be like not showing gratitude to Jay!

However... before the surgery can take place I will require another x-ray, because the one taken at the dentist wasn't really good enough. A date is yet to be set for the x-ray but I wish the docs would get their butts in gear - there's always the chance of the tooth worsening and flaring up again in the meantime!
