Just won 500 dollars? Just got home from a movie? Just ditched school? Just finished your new project?
Then post it here, in the new Forum Members Updates Page! This is a common thread in other forums to host all the meaningless posts. It's simple, it's fun and you don't have to make an entirely new thread just to post what you did today.

Well today my family and I watched... the Super Mario Bros. movie! And we ate chocolate coins (wrapped in gold foil, yes!) and Super Mario jellies while we watched it
Just one of our little contributions to dealing with our unhappiness at a certain recent 'joke' (yes we heard it was a 'joke', but none of us found it funny...) 0:-)

I've just been working a lot since we host a lot of Christmas parties and events during this season. Lots of hours for the evening shifts, but generally very slow in the morning. It's proven exhausting.

About sixteen cups of coffee's worth. I need to get this forum going and more active than it currently is, I'll be replying to even more posts, today. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have responded to all the posts that were made within the last month.

I'm winding down from a four-day vacation from work. It's been nice, but I'll be glad to get back to the club and my paychecks. It's good to be employed.

Recently PETA bashed Planet of the Apes for reducing apes to mere creatures you perform as and not the smart animals they are. PETA is also making 20th Century Fox either apologize or ban the the franchise...-_-.
May god help us all.

What.
Chimps are indeed intelligent and have been strong performers in the past, but they cannot be expected to put in a performance specifically themed towards apes that are no longer just apes. (I'll be creating a topic on Rise of the Planet of the Apes soon, since I recently saw it)

Actually it was a simple joke but hey, you were fooled. , Honestly I was going to play along for a while but decided to back out before things got ugly.

Doesn't anyone besides me think it's ironic that SMBMOVIE is often said by people that only the die hard fans will like it even though most of the people who hate it claim to be die hard fans?
No, anyone?

You know I thought of something. I read alot of the five and four star reviews of SMB and looked at all the letters to Disney for a re-release. Normally I'd think nothing of it but today I'd thought I'd just see this from a different perspective and what I've thought of really brings this to a whole different light.
From the fans eyes: We deserve a re-release and to make this happen, we politely email disney for this, and we give 10 star reviews on IDMB, and 5 star reviews on Amazon.
From the Company's eyes: We're angry that a movie no one really watches doesn't get a extended cut so we constantly whine to Disney in emails while completely rigging the rating systems for IDMB and Amazon so it'll be higher.
Then again I could over analyzing this.
I also thought about the famous spider pit sequence from King Kong (1933) that was never found likely got burned and I thought to myself, "What if the same fate happened to most if not ALL deleted scenes of Super Mario Bros?" Is this cynical? Yes, incredibly cynical. But then again, I keep a very open mind on most things.

This is just how it's done. Stepping on toes is the only thing to move things forward.

Mark Goldblatt (the editor) said pretty much the same thing, but since this is Disney we're talking about we have a greater chance of unused material surviving than if the film was owned by any other company.

Sorry I ain't been talking much lately, I'm sure RedStar may already know (i.e. after seeing my Facebook posts) but sadly I had a bereavement: on April 12 I had to have my very first Persian kitty Blinky put to sleep. RIP my sweet baby boy
But I do have some good news: I have a new kitten! She is a silver tabby and I have named her Okuni (after my favourite Samurai Warriors character). OMG she's so cute!

You know when I was still new here on the forums I used to be puzzeled by Phlibbit's user image. It took me about a year or two to realize it was a smudged bob-omb picture! ABOUT. TWO. YEARS.

I'm sorry to hear that. The loss of a pet is always like losing a part of a family.

Hey, you're not alone. I've had people demanding we chance the icon on Twitter because they had no idea what it was supposed to be. I mean, I know the Twitter display icon is a little small, but it's still apparent what it is.

Well it's sort of apparent but the fact that it's smudged makes it more difficult to see what it is. During that I mentioned I thought it was like a siholette of Koopa's head or something.

It's smudged (nay, "stylized") for a reason. True fans should be able to get the reference.

As I stated in another thread, I got bit by the animation bug after drawing He-Man VS Goku and thought hey, I can animate this. After downloading and finding many animated gifs I was able to trace over real footage for a new flash cartoon. MOTU meets DBZ. I gotta say it looks awesome. I might be able put a trailer up for it.
I've got many awesome voice actors and actresses, even a celebrity voice Kazu Nagahama star of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, and featured on 1000 ways to die. It's nice animating something that's not Mario which it feels like the past 3 years that's all I've worked on. I love fanfiction, and I'm sure these two power house of brand names will bring justice.

I recently purchased Lupin the Third, Conan the Barbarian, and Aspen on VHS. The Goodwills in WA have all kinds of videos for 49 cents.

I still love the VHS format, so if I see an older movie I like I'll pick it up. Thrift stores and indie markets like Rasputin's in Berkeley, CA are good venues for finding old films for cheap. You can even find complete boxsets for classics like Planet of the Apes for under $5.

I would love to do a video where a kid is born with VHS box hands and his parents die in a fire accident and he blames his hands for their death.

Yeah, I also get my vhs movies from the video store. The goodwill down the street will always have special place in my heart now. It was there got classics like The Big Lebowksi, Scream, Raising Arizona, Batman, Batman Returns, It, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, all the good stuff!
I even went to a garage sale with my parents and got movies like Braveheart, The Fox and the Hound, The Deer Hunter, Scarface, even frigging Pulp Fiction!

I love Goodwill here, the ones in Ohio just carried crappy Christian gossip/ christmas albums and movies. I actually went today and found Best of He-Man which contains the best episodes from season 1 and 2 for only four bucks. At a place in Ohio called the Exchange they sold it for 10.

This is perhaps the best place for this: last Thursday was my two year anniversary with my girlfriend, Chasity. I was able to get the day off, so we drove over to the Bay Area for the day. We first hung around Berkeley for a couple hours, which has a great downtown location. Fat Slice has really good pizza. 'Nuf said.
After that we headed to the famous pier, which for non-Californians is a strip of piers that run along the bay-opening to the ocean. Alcatraz prison can be seen from here. It's mostly a tourist attraction with restaurants, stores and pandhandling street performers who are very often worth giving a few dollars to.
We decided to take the bus into Chinatown, which is a place we've never been before. Very nice few blocks of the city with many stores and restaurants. If we hadn't already eaten in Berkeley we certainly would have bought a whole roasted duck or at least a couple bowls of ramen. Instead, we just went searching for counterfeit toys. Surprisingly not much to be found, though the import stores have really great Asian snacks/candy. I bought a pack of strawberry cream Pocky with real strawberry chunks. Very delicious treat. It's basically semi-sweet biscuit sticks dipped in cream. There's dozens of cream and topping varieties.
In the end, we went to Neptune's restaurant on the edge of Pier 39, which overlooks the Bay. Very romantic view. We shared a bowl of clam chowder and a crab/artichoke dip with flat bread with the main course being garlic-butter roasted Dungeness crab. Bill was $51 with a $9 tip. Not bad for an anniversary dinner.
I have been working on this crossover at the beginning of the month and just finished it. Masters of the Universe Meets Dragonball. Its the fastest animation I've ever done.

Thank you. I think it'll be okay since I have a bunch of Mario cartoons I've done, and the complete Mario anime movie I did in Engrish.
I had such a great cast on this cartoon, possibly the best one I ever worked with. Filmmakerj as Man at Arms did such a wonderful job, it makes me think I'm actually hearing the real VA for the character. The Goku I got reminded me so much of the Canadian Ocean group dub of DBZ. It was also a blast working with Kazu Nagahama from Tim and Eric and 1000 Ways to Die as the voice of the monk. I just had such a blast making it, and it was the fastest animation I ever worked on.

I just saw the Avengers yesterday, it was an awesome. I particularly liked the chemistry between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. It seemed that they'll have a decent friendship at least that's what I think.
By the way, also thought Iron Man wad probably the best out of all the Marvel Cinematic universe series so far. Avengers is a close second but Iron Man is the best.

I scored a copy of x-com 1 for a dollar and altered beast for a dollar.
Mobile suit gundam seed soundtrack music from FF 5 and 6 and star wars rebel assault 2 for 10 dollars.
That is so cool! Are you thinking of pursuing a career in acting or would you see yourself more as doing marketing with the occasional bit role?

Thanks. I'm really working on improving my writing, but I think that at some point I'm going to try everything. I have a couple of really cool things that I'm working on with director/writer Leigh Scott, and he's definitely been a great mentor for me.
