The Official: Your Favorite Music! Thread
I can't believe no-one's made a thread regarding music, yet. I guess I'll start it with an official thread.
What kind of music do you listen to? I enjoy the classics, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Salieri, Handel and Strauss. As well as more contemporary rock like Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Pixies and The Smashing Pumpkins, but sometimes I get more into the heavier stuff like KMFDM, Marilyn Manson, KoRn, Rage Against the Machine and Nine Inch Nails. I even enjoy some rap, like Aesop Rock, The Streets and Boondox. But what about all of you? What do you listen to?

I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. Metallica's Enter sandman. Some AC/DC. I'm classic rock.
Isn't this a little feminine?
Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.
But you wear this stuff?!
Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

Anything but rap and grunge. Mostly 80s and earlier, some 90s, very little made after 1999 as it's all follows formulas the entertainment industry have. Even newer metal doesn't do much for me other than 80s acts.
Just call me Wes. Gaming since before gaming was hip.

When I'm sitting by the computer, the music I prefer to hear comes from video games and TV programs, including TV newscasts. I would love to hear such music on the radio on a regular basis.
Here are the links to some sites where I usually hear the music I enjoy while at the computer:
www.southernmedia-nmsa.com/ (Southern Media News Music Archive)
www.televisiontunes.com (Television Tunes)
www.networknewsmusic.com (Network News Music)
http://kontek.net:8000/ (WTMK, an Internet audio stream of video game music, mostly music from Mario games)

iTunes also has a wide array of video-game related podcasts you can listen to in the background, you should check it out.

I see you like to alphabetize things. I'm a big fan of that, too.

I love a variety of music, yes including videogame music (well this should go without saying at this site!). But in most cases, when I buy a new CD I usually save it for a special occasion - like to fit the happy mood, y'know? Oh how I can hardly ever wait to test out those special CDs
Oh and if anyone can find a copy of the SMB movie soundtrack CD, please let me know

I have a copy, just go to Amazon and buy it. It's not hard to find, nor is it expensive. It's like, $6.99.

Roger Waters is bringing "The Wall" back to the states in 2012. I wish I had the dough to pick up tickets for the Wrigley Field show, but...'tis not to be.

I don't know about any of you, but I've been listening to a lot of KMFDM (Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid), lately. They're a German band that sounds like they're from Idaho. I recently ordered "Adios," which is widely regarded as one of their best albums. They're sort of a heavier, industrial-sounding band. I like to listen to them when I'm angry, which, as you can imagine, is a lot of the time.
ADHD-- it makes you happy, and angry!

My all-time favorite band is The Killers. Not a bad song in their lineup. Also check out anything Mike Oldfield--he has 80s pop hits, synthesized tracks, and he also did an orchestral concert/soundtrack back in 2008 that I just now found out about

I'm not sure if the poster above (MichelPonting) is a bot or just a confused troll...
Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of The Cure and Sisters of Mercy, lately. As well as Sting. I'm in a mood.

Re: The Official: Your Favorite Music! Thread
A few of my favorites are Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Group 1 Crew and the Black Eyed Peas. Of course there are a lot of songs I like, but those are a few artists that I like that I listen to a lot. And of course the various artists from the 'Super Mario Bros.' soundtrack! Haha
