This comic tells an incredibly powerful story through imagery alone, Carl. We're seeing the Mushroom Kingdom and its people at its absolute worst without the possibility of hope or redemption. The saddest part is that Mario and perhaps a countless series of clones are unaware that their quest is utterly futile.

It's just a game for Bowser. There is no Game Over; just a series of Continues that can never lead to a win.

That's actually quite good. The idea of Mario's "extra lives" being an endless supply of clones is like something out of a Phillip K. Dick novel. I also like the artwork.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

Thanks, glad you guy like it. Glad you both picked up on it so quick. I was afraid that people were going to assume it was a comedy based on the subject matter, but no, it seems the grimmness and gravity of the situation came through just fine. :D

Stay tuned, There's still more to come even.

If your goal had been a joke comic than I'd be severely embarrassed about my commentary!

Looking forward to seeing how the comic may continue, though its message is strong enough that you probably don't even have to explore it past the last page.

I'm really digging this. A lot of these kinds of Mario "interpretations" I think are too "artsy" for art's sake, but what you've done here is really great. It's stylized just enough and it's not tasteless like a lot of the other stuff I've seen.

Yeah, I definitely dig the style, it has sort of a rough-etched "Frank Miller" thing going on. I'm reminded of "The Dark Knight Returns," or the more recent Frank Miller graphic novel, "Holy Terror." Keep up the good work!

The artwork is beautiful, I love the simplicity of Mario's design and the way Toad looked all shriveled up and tired you can really hear the agony in his voice. Also I like the black and white look so far, it reminds me of the DBZ mangas I used to read. Very nice work I'm looking forward to seeing more.
BMX, Baseball and chewing gum!
