The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Well, what do you think of the TMNT series? I personally love these guys but what do you think?
Isn't this a little feminine?
Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.
But you wear this stuff?!
Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

Re: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
I used to watch the cartoon series, but never really followed it too much.
However, my brothers and I were big on the live-action movies. They're just good even on a purely technical level as actual films. That really helps them hold up even now as something that you can revisit as an adult and still appreciate. The characters, story and artistic direction lend towards a premise that never gets old.

Um, only the first two movies were good. Well the second was a bit mediocre but it was enjoyable, the third completely sucks.
Stock villains, lame costumes, lame acting, and of course, childhood ruinings.

I didn't specifically mention the third film, though now that you mention it I should say that I do remember it somewhat fondly. I don't totally remember all the details like I do for the first and second, but I did like it for what it was.
It didn't explore the mythos established in the first two films as it should have or really give the characters development, but it was fun and that's all that matters.

Re: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
The Ninja Turtles were a huge part of my childhood growing up, before I got into Super Mario. I watched the original cartoon, had a lot of the action figures and vehicles, and absolutely LOVED the first 2 movies. I didn't care for the 3rd, even as a kid. I even had the large plushies of the 4 turtles and would beat the crap outta them with my cousin growing up (a lot of childhood memories with those).
My love and appreciation for the turtles came back around the same time it did for the SMB Movie and when I joined this forum. The 25th Anniversary re-releases of the original figures got me to start buying back my tmnt collection as well as buying the SMB Movie toys. I'm also on the http://forums.thetechnodrome.com, which is a great forum community if any of you are interested. Right now most of the discussion topics are about the new TMNT series that will be on Nickalodeon, as well as a new toyline that will be released by Playmates (including a Classic figures line!!). There is also a new movie that I think is planned to come out in either 2013 or 2014.
Yes...I'm quite a turtle fan

I liked the movie as a kid, but then, I guess I had a tendency to zone in on what I would like, and ignore the bad? Maybe?
In this case: The Turtles have their weapons back! And they're like samurai now! Hooray!
...hasn't really helped the film hold up in my eyes, though.

Re: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Has anyone here seen the new Nick TMNT show that came out this past year? I think the show is brilliant!

Oh, I really like it! ...What happened to it? I don't see it listed anymore.

It should still be on. As far as I know it's still in first season, and a second season is in the works.

Re: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Season 1 is ending on August 8th. Season 2 is slated to start this October, and will actually feature the 1987 Cartoon characters in a sort of crossover. In addition, Playmates will be releasing more figures fore the Nick toyline, Bebop and Rocksteady for the 8 inch Classics line, and will also be re-releasing the 1988 figures and Party Wagon as part of a "Retro Classic" line. They are already up for pre-order at http://www.toysrus.com and BBTS.

I watched this at 5am when staying over at a friend's who has two children under ten. Outside of the CG-style I think it's a decent adaptation, although the original '80s series holds more interest to me.

I am more of a fan of the 1987 Cartoon, too. But I have to say, the new Nick cartoon is a really well-done adaptation. I feel that it blends action and comedy really well, and also brought back pizza as their favorite food. Also, Season 2 of the show will be coming out in September, not October. My bad
