Hollywood will one day run out of bad ideas. Then no more shitty movies! But I don't think they come out with any good movies. Its like on the AAwesomO episode of South Park I just watched. These Hollywood scums only enjoed movie ideas involving Adam Sandler, falling in love with a girl who's really a dog Puppy Love.

I believe there are certain films where remakes/reboots make sense and are acceptable, but only when the source property has so much mythology that you could feasibly do something different with the material.
Starship Troopers went from a serious examination of human nature and the duty of the individual for the many to a cheesy political satire that completely missed Heinlein's point. In this instance a remake is not only acceptable but appropriate.
The Stallone version of Judge Dredd similarly missed the mark and now looks to finally being given justice with its upcoming remake. Total Rekall, however, is largely the same as the original, though is distancing itself by removing Mars as the center locale.
There are many instances where I can see this constant barrage of revisitations as a good thing, though there will always be the unnecessary Psycho remake as well.

Oh, good! That means Colin Farrell won't go "ARGH ARGH ARGH" in Mars' vacuum, like Arnie did in the original. That is the main reason why you will never see me set foot in a room while TR90 is playing. *shudders*

Trailer for one of the most high-profile reboots coming up, Total Recal:
I see potential in this. The set design is certainly appealing, though I honestly get Biel and Beckensale confused. They really should have made one of them blonde.
They also had footage up for the long-delayed Red Dawn remake, which changed the antagonists from Russians to the Chinese, then to North Koreans after Chinese controversy. The original is certainly a classic of its time, but can Hollywood once again rekindle Cold War fears of obliteration in a time of civil unrest?

While it definitley looks cool, I honestly think this one is gonna be mediocre. However if they dare explain whether or not Douglas Quaid was really expirencing the movie I'm walking out!
Isn't this a little feminine?
Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.
But you wear this stuff?!
Yeah on an occasion we have a date.
