I have no idea what you're talking about. My Little Pony was a 1980s Saturday morning cartoon.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

The series got a retool a few years ago called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Apparently, the show got real popular with mean of all ages.

In answer to the question why the show is hated, I guess it's because the show is a great example of escapism.
Isn't this a little feminine?

Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.

everywhere online i see dudes saying their bronies, or having avatars of them being ponys, nerds enjoying my little pony shirts, the new cartoon, everything. the bronies are the male fans of the serires. it's disguisting, boys arent supposed to like this. it's just a shame what is happening with todays society. this is why whenever i have kids, i will make sure they are not exposed to the crap on tv.

And this is what you get for complaining about shows you don't watch. Plus, why would you care if your kids watched My Little Pony? Why do you care that men watch My Little Pony? Why are you convinced that men are only allowed to watch a certain type of cartoon?

I personally don't understand why My Little Pony is popular with guys nowadays but then again, I haven't watched the show so maybe I'm missing out on something. Men liking My Little Pony doesn't mean anything nor should it. I think your overreacting to this.

hahahaha this is the best reaction to anything.

It just sounds creepy when there are full grown men watching a little girls show, and calling themselves bronies and proud to be one. It just makes them sound like they are child molesters, trying to fit in to abduct children. i dunno to me it's just weird.

From my understanding My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is very well written with humor geared towards several demographics. The pony angle really is the only aspect to draw in kids/little girls; the storylines, characters and dialogue is all executed with young adult men and women in mind.

In the end it's still a girls show. This is like when High School Musical was popular, no explination behind why it was, it just was. Glad I'm not a kid growing up now.

I'm with Redstar on this one. From what I've seen and heard other bronies say, MLP: Friendship is Magic is a well-written show with a good story and interesting characters. I also think part of it might be due to the fact that Lauren Faust, the creator of the show, worked on Powerpuff Girls and a few other hit cartoons that the fans liked.

I found the whole fandom strange at first, too. I tried watching a few episodes of the show on netflix and, to me, it seems no different from other kid shows. It doesn't grab my interest enough for me to be a fan. But if others get more out of the show and truly enjoy it as much as kids, then hey, more power to them.

The brony fandom doesn't really bother me, except for the whole clopper thing.

All I know is that someone wrote a fan-fiction called Fallout Equestria, which is a mix of the My Little Pony show and the Fallout video-game series.

It's six hundred and twenty thousand words, total. That's roughly 150,000 words longer than the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy of books and the book The Hobbit combined, and roughly 150,000 words shorter than the King James Bible. So that means if there's ever a sequel to this pony thing, the Bible will become the second greatest story ever told, at least in terms of how far apart its covers are.

If ya think THAT'S long, you should check out the SEQUEL called Project Horizons! It's over 50 chapters long, is split into 4 volumes, and is still going!

Some people really need to get lives if they're writing a fanfic that long.

Well they cant make money off it, they usually add themselves as the main character in some form, and they put their own life issues in there a well.

Well they cant make money off it,

Yes, but then again, that argument can also be used against all kinds of fan related stuff. They don't do it for the money, they mostly do it because they want to, though I will admit that wish fulfillment is also partly the reason.

they usually add themselves as the main character in some form,

Well yeah, but what author DOESN'T do that? It's pretty common for authors to put a bit of themselves into their characters, I'm not sure what the problem with that is.

and they put their own life issues in there a well.

Well besides the fact that the author of Project Horizons went through a creator breakdown, the fic is mostly an original story (or as original as a fan fic can get) with a dark tone.

Just because it's long doesn't mean it falls into the traps of other fan-fics.

It's My Little Pony, enough said...I dont care who writes or works on it. It is mean for girls. Just because it's long doesn't mean it falls into the traps of other fan-fics.

You know it's pretty sad when someone doesn't feel they need to bother explaining their arguments simply because it's a fan fic of a certain show they feel is not appropriate for a certain demographic.

Closed-mindnesses is awesome. [/sarcasm]

It's my personal opinion I just think older men in their 30s who like. Little girls show ar molestors. That all. I would also like to state I have watched the show and did not see what was so great about it.
