I feel that we are mature enough to carry a politics-focused discussion, so I would like to ask who everyone will be voting for this November as the President/Vice-President. Even if you are not yet of legal age to vote, please feel free to share your thoughts on who you feel should lead our country in the next term.

Please be respectful of other people's opinions. If you cannot then don't expect to share your own; we're an intelligent, free-thinking group. Make us proud.

I personally am not impressed with ANY of the current lineup though if I had to choose, I'd go with Romney. Why? Because I personally did not like how Obama lead our land. I always he was a tool by us Americans to prove that we accept all kinds of people to be presidents not just white people. Then again, I'm not into politics so I may be wrong on this.

I vote for Turd Sandwich. I really just want Obama to win again to make the white trash who are racist to get more mad about it. But honestly, I'm not worried about the president election, it's more of a bill that I want to see get through.

Well, I have to disagree. If you believe in someone, whether they're a Republican, a Democrat or an Independent or a Libertarian or just no affiliation at all and you think that you're voting for the right person, then you're voting for what you believe in. That's what America's all about-- doing what you know is right in the name of your country.

I'd say you're about 50/50, but somewhat flawed. Most people probably voted for Obama not because he's black, but because eight years of scandals and secrets in the Bush administration left them exhausted of the GOP. That, and a lot of Republicans voted for him mostly because they didn't like Sarah Palin (or so I've heard--give me a few days and I'll get back to you on that one).

Romney, though...really? I admit, there's something about him that makes my blood run cold. (For the record, John McCain didn't make my blood run cold.)

May I try to persuade you that your decision is perhaps not the best one?

As for me, I cast my vote for Obama. The GOP has for too long been the party of bullies, and standing up to them and showing them you're not afraid anymore deflates them.

Well that proves it, I'm not an expert at politics. You know, even if I did have the right to vote, I wouldn't vote for either of these guys. Obama's pretty obvious, I'm sure he's an ok guy but he has done some stupid things during his run (then again, lots of presidents have done stupid things). Mitt Romney on the other hand is pretty. I don't even have a word for him, he's just...there's just something about him.

Well, Obama has been absolutely walloping Romney in the debates. People may say that he cannot give a speech without use of a teleprompter, but he's been showing him up with quite a few come-backs. The "horses and bayonets" rebuttal was really, really funny.

Romney just has a history of saying exceedingly inappropriate things which doesn't go well with our allies. He has said that Russia is our greatest political adversary, which really shows how dated his political perspective is.

I'm still voting for Gary Johnson. Funny how much people want 'change' yet they refuse to think outside the box by voting for a third party candidate when voting for the same two parties for decades without changing has been all they're doing.

Election Day! Get out there and vote! Your voice today could determine the nature of how quickly our nation recovers or ultimately collapses on itself, so weigh in on the presidential candidate and your state propositions as best you can.

Look beyond selfish biases and think of what would be best for our people as a whole. Vote smartly and confidently!

I know it's a few weeks late, but I'm still curious to know how everyone felt about the election. Were you satisfied with the results, both on the federal and state level? What were your statewide propositions and how will they affect you personally?

We had some great propositions here in California this year. Most passed how I wanted them to, although some didn't. The three big ones were whether to repeal the death penalty, whether to label foods that have been genetically modified and stricter laws concerning sex trafficking. How about your states?

No, your timing is OK. Gives everyone a little time to think.

When I got home after doing election duty, I was pretty scared even though my supervisor told me that Obama had won our district. When O's victory was at last announced, I was just...relieved. Not elated, not exuberant, just relieved, even though I couldn't quite figure out why. Somehow, though, I knew that a GOP victory would probably set us back even farther than we already are.

A couple of days later, I read a HuffPo op-ed which explained that this was the first election after the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision, which stated that "corporations are people" and had the same voting rights as ordinary citizens. Had Romney won, the Sheldon Adelsons and Koch Brothers of the world would have been proven right...a terrible precedent.

I didnt vote and was very glad to see Obama win, Romney seemed like a jackass.

I consider myself bipartisan. I really liked McCain last election, but felt that Obama was the better candidate. (It certainly didn't help that Palin was his vice-president)

I would definitely vote for a Republican candidate if they actually seemed intelligent and capable. Romney was neither of those. I have no idea what caused it, but the entire Republican platform and demographic just shifted into absurdity over the last four years. Many people voted for Romney simply because they didn't want to vote for Obama, even though he was the much better candidate.

Hopefully the GOP makes some changes by the next election. All they gave us this election were religious fundamentalists, anti-science mongers and sexual harassers. When Romney comes out as the ideal choice, you know something's wrong. His major issue was not having a filter. He offended everybody. He would not have made for very good foreign relations, let alone domestic.
