Well with the news of Kai finishing now and a new movie I thought I'd share some updates on the series. The Buu Saga is coming to the overseas and a new movie is coming out in Japan march 30. This was leaked yesterday on the new movie and it looks really interesting.



For the fans that know DB, if you look in the corner it looks like there is a small Pilaf, Mai, and Shu. That girl may be Videl with a new style, Tenshinhan is in the back, and Krillin is also. What urks fans suprisingly is the fact that Gohan is super saiyan 1, even though he is supposed to be mystic. Since this does take place in the gap of Buu and the end of Z.

Kai ended in Japan at the end of Cell, officiall ending when Trunks goes to his timeline and kills the androids and first form Cell. That episode never aired on Japanese television because of the earthquake they had in 2011, but was released on DVD. Same goes here, it never aired on Nicktoons but was released on DVD in the final volume. But the voice actress for Krillin added a photo with the DBZ cast saying they were recording a secret project, the next few weeks it was revealed by the VA for Japanese Piccolo, it was the Buu Saga and they are at the part where Goten and Trunks sneak into the Tenkaichi Tournament. But the weird thing is it will not be aired on TV in Japan, and it is being made for overseas. So either Funimation, and a few other companies put some money into this to happen, or they're doing it to fill in new fans of Buu saga, I dunno. I am hoping they have a new composer since Yamamoto was caugt in a music scandal and they had to go back to Kukichi, the man's music is awesome but I like Kai to have a fresh new soundtrack not reused music from old episodes.

The new movie is supposed to take place after the Buu fight, and durring the ten year gap. It's stll not even confirmed if that image is real, but it looks like the real deal. It's also not even confirmed if that's Videl. Unlike the other movies (unless you count movie 9 Bojack Unbound) this movie is canon, and Akira Toriyama is behind the story of it. Similar to Yo! Son Goku and his Friends Return! 2008 special.

Gohan became Mystic when the Elder Kai made him sit down for about 10 episodes to open his true powers.

It actually fits since it takes place right after Cell, the only flaw would be Trunks hair is long. It doesn't have to be canon but it could be.

Glad to hear that they're continuing the Kai remastering. It's always nice to see a fresh and updated take on such an influential classic, although I've had my reservations with the series.

I enjoy Kai because it cuts out the nonsense filler, such as Fake Namek, any filler me and my gf call it Fake Namek. i can't wait to see what they will do with buu, and how close it will be to the manga.

Without it the adventure just feels rushed. You never get a sense of how Gohan goes from a crying child to a trained warrior. There's an extent of filler that I do like, most of it was in the Saiyan saga, with Gohans training, and Goku on snakeway, I did enjoy those. But the filler after that to me just went down hill. We didn't need the Freeza fight go on for more than 40 episodes, and keep telling us there's only 5 minutes left. Same with he Cell saga, the Kamehameha battle between Cell and Gohan went on for about 2 episodes, where in Kai it was like, 10 minutes.

I wuold enjoy watching Z again if Funimation redubbed the whole thing, with the Kai cast. I hate Stephanie Nadolny as Gohan, and can't stand Freeza, or Bulma's original English voices. Kai's acting improved, with more actors on board rather than Chris Sabat dubbing half of the series himself. The new Freeza voice is a huge improvement, and honestly does a great job capturing the Japanese actor as well. I hate Linda Young's Freeza but I do feel bad for her, because I heard she cried when she was told she couldn't be Freeza anymore, she couldn't keep up with his lines, and he was saying more sophisticated ones rather than what he said in 1999.

Here is the first (second if you count the one recorded off someones TV the other day) trailer of the DBZ movie coming out in Japan next year.

I myself am very excited. I wish the dub actors sounded just like the Japanese actors. Yes even if Goku had to be voiced by a woman.

Why is Mister Satan a black guy in the new movie? Don't get me wrong, it's great to include African Americans in movies, but I'm pretty sure that in the DBZ continuity he's a white guy...

Only on the TV dub. The home video releases still refer to him as "Mister Satan."

However, according to the guy who created DBZ, "Hercule Satan" is his stage name-- his real name is "Mark."

Actually, Hercule was created by Funimation, Mr. Satan is the stage name, and Mark is his real name. It's supposed to be a play on word with something to do with wrestling. I don't think Mr. Satan is black in this either, he is more tan. Mr. Satan is supposed to be tan, kinda like Goku in GT, even though GT isn't real and never happened, just a figment of the imagination. Also if you look at Toriyama's original works some characters are tan.

Something really bad continuity problem in that though is that Kaio Sama's planet is back, unless he has a new one, or his planet was wished back, this is a bad plot hole since this takes place between the 7 year gap after Majin Buu. Another one would be Goku in space, dunno how this can be. But the whole DB story is filled with plot holes.

I noticed that. Really made me think back on whether me memory of continuity was correct. Glad to see I was correct.

The art/animation looks amazing and the story interesting, so I am looking forward to this.

I'm really not suprised that Akira Toriyama was really heavy on the story because of these continuity issues. There is continuity spread through out the whole series since he did it off the top of his head for ten years. He even stated in interviews, he just forgot. There's issues like, Dende being a kid in the Buu saga, Krillin wearing saiyan armor, then his orange gi, back to saiyan armor, back in the first 13 issues of DB, goku take boss rabbit on the moon, when the moon triggers his Oozaru state. There's a lot more I just can't remember them.

Her is som crazy news, AAA animenewsnetwork announced listing for DBZ THE ORIGINAL BROADCAST DVD. This of course bein released by Funi an includin th original Ocean voice cast before Funi took over with their inhouse dub cast. Now also someone on a forum just happens to go to a gym with a certain original VA lets just say hes over 9000. Anway, he told this guy that he has been redubbing some lines an they are doing Kai a well for Canada. Speculations are swirling that this original broadcast dub may b DBZ uncut with the original voice actors.

If this is true, Battle of the Gods could or maybe b dubbed by Ocean. Which woul be sad becaus I just got use to th funimation voice cast after they improved so much with Kai. This is all just speculations though as thi VA tol the guy big news will be heard in March. So who knows.

Akira Toriyama came up with the story and is heavily involved in character designs and it is canon to th manga. Also it will unviel the new SSJ Supe Saiyan God. This movie also seems to be excluding GT because GT is crap.

Haha they have been. In Japan they a statue of the cornol dressed as Goku. Bunch of stuffs going on with Battle of the Gods. Hopefully we get a english release that isn't dumbed down for kids since 20th century fox owns the movie rights.
