Okay, so check this out.

Lawnmower Man 2: Jobe's War is a movie from 1996, a sequel to a movie based loosely on a Stephen King story that starred Jeff Fahey (Psycho III, Grindhouse (Planet Terror segment)) and Pierce Brosnan of 1990s era James Bond 007 fame.

This sequel features the great Matt Frewer as Jobe, some sort of crazy computer guy who was once a lawnmower man and after Pierce Brosnan made him a genius with some sort of VR tech he goes a little crazy. The movie was directed by Farhad Mann, who incidentally was the director of the very first episode of the popular Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel (the directors of our favorite movie!) TV show Max Headroom (which also starred Matt Frewer as the titular character and his human counterpart, great show, go check it out) entitled Blipverts. This movie got some seriously negative reviews, thought I'm not sure why. Again, I've never seen the first one, but I found this for like, 3 bucks in a bargain bin and when I saw Matt Frewer's name on it after binge watching Max Headroom I drooled and said: "I must have it."

The movie is actually pretty fun, it's very cyberpunk, reminiscent of both Max Headroom and Super Mario Bros., with touches of Peter Pan and Tron. It's also eerily prophetic in many ways, touching on issues that are arising today, like the desensitization of humanity via the internet, as well Augmented Reality and disassociation from the outside world There's even a device in the movie called the "EyePhone." If you find it, you should totally pick it up, Lawnmower Man 2: Jobe's War (sometimes called Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace), like Super Mario Bros., Max Headroom, Peter Pan, Tron, Jurassic Park, ReBoot, Doctor Who and Blade Runner all rolled into one big movie that's fun for everybody!
