Zelda Netflix series

Postby ultimateemail5000 » Fri Feb 06, 2015 9:39 pm

Rumor has it that a Zelda series is in the works for Netflix. Could this be real, or fake? If real, could it also lead more to Nintendo finally licensing their characters for the entertainment business?

Let's not forget that "Zelda" has already had a decent animated life, so it's not entirely outside the box Nintendo has placed things in. :|

I'm not sure if it's real or not, but from what I've heard, the only reason they are even considering it is because of the success of "Game of Thrones" and because "Thrones" is completely outside the family market and "Zelda" could fill the niche that "Thrones" left wide open. If true, I for one would welcome it. :D

A cousin of mine asked me to watch the first "Game of Thrones" episode with her and found it absolutely, unnecessarily revolting; I had my eyes closed or diverted half of the time. Not my cup of tea.
Koopa from the darkest wilds, makes you feel just like a...baby?
Jumario, more than a game.

It's full of weiners according to South Park hahaha.

There's really nothing on it other than a family version of Thrones. I have yet to watch a single episode and probably won't. I do and can not keep up with these shows or lose interests in them. I lost interests quickly in Walking Dead after season 3. Becuase of that show I can say zombies are forever ruined. I really hope Zelda doesn't go in that same path, even if it brings it more popularity, I just don't like hearing people say Zelda sucks then turn around and go OH THAT IS AWESOME, I LOVE THE GAMES NOW JSUT BECAUSE THE SHOW IS GREAT!

A very accurate description.

Also, I understand how frustrating "bandwagoners" can be, especially with franchises you have been involved with your whole life that suddenly see a resurgence. Suddenly, people who thought your tastes were retarded jump on the bandwagon and then have the nerve to pretend that they were there all along and know more about it than you do.

I'd watch this. Even if the previews were terrible and reviews indicated the same I'd watch the hell out of it. It has the potential to be truly amazing.

The Zelda universe is timeless. Unlike Super Mario, I can see any era ('80s, '90s or now) producing something remarkable.

That's a really intriguing observation. Any era/style of "Zelda" would make for a worthwhile adaptation. As we've seen, Mario is much harder.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. It could be awesome or be a disaster. Nintendo has been so protective of their properties for media adaptation that if they're letting it happen...then if it ever makes the light of day, it'll be good.

I honestly think it is happening since Netflix refused to comment about it, and the fact that Iwata stated last year that they want to license their characters in other forms of media. Which makes sense. Nintendo is finally opening up now, and will hopefully do it right this time around.

I honestly had a vision last month how funny it would have been if in 87 a Zelda movie was made and Cory Feldman was Link hahaha.
