I know there's been a couple different actors to play the Toxic Avenger, I meant the guy who did the voice in parts 1 and 4 and the other guy who did the voice in parts 2 and 3.

The guy who did the voice in 1 I think has passed on. But the voice in part 4 came back for the teaser for part 5, so I don't think he's goin anywhere. John Altemura from 2 and 3, was a bastard on set, and took off his mask when he wasnt supposed to, and was treating people badly, so they threw him off set and Ron Fazio replaced him, who also went on to do the voice. I don't think Ron Fazio will voice Toxie again since Lloyd is probably too scared to make that move again. There's an interview with Ron Fazio on youtube somewhere. He asks Lloyd why they didnt get him for part 4, which replys, we tried looking for you.
Have you seen the Toxie 5 tralier yet? They made last winter I believe as a way to show it off, but then Nuke'em High 4 started production.

Ohhh my God, I just watched Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, it was... delightfully retarded. Lloyd Kaufman has totally redeemed himself after the debacle of Tromeo & Juliet. And the music in the movie was fantastic, too.

That's such a good movie, way better than Toxie 4 and Terror Firmer. It might have to do with the fact fans were working on the movie. I really liked Tromeo so but Poultrygeist. It was a good ending to so they didn't have to make a sequel.

Yeah, I also liked how all the main characters were named after fast food chains (Arbie, Mickey, Wendy, Bell, Denny, etc-etc.)
These were my favorite songs from the movie...

I like the song with old Arby and young Arby. You should totally watch the behind the scenes making of doc of that film. It's on youtube, along with over 150 of Troma movies. It's a great way to watch the classics if you dont have them on DVD or Netflix.
Here's a trailer for Toxie5 if you haven't seen it. Which has the dubbed voice of Toxie from Citizen, Craig Lewis.
Oh if you want some songs from Toxic Avenger and Nuke'em High, someone sent me a bunch of their songs, like Nothing at all (durring Skippy's death), and a few others, along with Emotional Refugee, Run for your Life, Angel, Rock N Roll Paradise, and a few others that always play durring Class of Nuke'em High 1.

This is great, Troma's really making a comeback from its slump in the late 90s through the mid 2000s. I should write a screenplay and submit it to them.

Germany or some foreign country recently got a 3 Toxie DVD, that has the directors cut, and a never before seen cut of the film. I tweeted Lloyd asking when we will see this release and he said
Chad Kyer @ChadKyer 20 Oct
@lloydkaufman Will we ever get that 3 disc Toxie DVD that includes the cut with deleted scenes and never before seen stuff?
Lloyd Kaufman
@lloydkaufman
@ChadKyer the Japanese version of Toxie is soon to be released w missing scenes!
So once again, we have a new Toxie DVD coming soon! hOORAY. But this time worth the double dip because it has scenes never before seen that were even on the deleted scenes DVD.

Do you mean an extended cut of the original Toxic Avenger? Or an extended cut of the third movie? Because frankly, the third movie is probably the longest in the series, I don't think they really cut anything out of it.

An extended cut of the first movie, I have seen images of it, some stuff never seen in the deleted scenes, but a scene with Melvin interacting with his mom, and kissing her, though it looks like he's makin out with her. I'd really hope they have the lonely mop boy scene, which involves melvin in the field alone before becoming Toxie, that he goes to at the end of hte movie. Here's a link with info on it and images. http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=4380
I would really like to see Toxie 2 and 3's original 6 hour cut of part 2. I bet it would be really neat to see, and I know they have it laying around somewhere. They have to, I've seen a video of their film department, and they have negatives and prints for what looks to be every movie they've released. But I can't wait for this new extended remastered version of Toxie 1.

Hmm, it's only three minutes longer? That doesn't seem like a very interesting director's cut...
As for a six hour cut of parts 2 and 3 as one movie, even I think that's a little overkill. Super-long movies (Titanic, Once Upon a Time in America, Cleopatra and The Godfather Part II) at longest run about four hours or just a few minutes over. The last time they made an 'epic' exploitation film was in the 1970s with Caligula, and that was still just under three hours, in its uncut entirety. Now, you know me, I have a long attention span for movies, I've seen Seven Samurai over a hundred times and that's four hours of reading subtitles in a black and white Japanese movie from the 50s. But I don't think I could sit through a six hour cut of a Toxic Avenger sequel. They'd need at least two intermissions and it would probably have to be spanned across two discs, anyway, so you might as well just watch Toxie 2 and Toxie 3 back to back. Those sequels are unusually long...

That may be true, but I think if there really is such a demand for this 6 hour cut, then the studio should probably release it for a good sum of cash. Plus, there probably are quite a bit of fans who would pay the see the original cut so I say let them watch it by releasing it.
Isn't this a little feminine?

The 'original cut' everyone's talking about is pretty much just parts 2 and 3 as they are, but as one movie instead of two. We're not really missing much out of the second and third movie, they just took one movie and split it into two. The most we're missing is a scene here or there where they regroup after the events of the second film which would have presumably lead into the second act which is the third film.

Oh, well then I'm not sure that there is really a point. Can't you just add that one scene in the third movie? And just rework the credits or include it as a deleted scene in the special features.

There would be no point, as it would disrupt the continuity of the second and third movies being separate.

If you really wanted it, I guess. But considering that it's probably not that important to begin with, that makes it completely pointless to release an entirely new DVD set just for a single deleted scene.
Now, unless the deleted scene is over two hours long, then it's really not worth buying into. There might not even be a deleted scene, I'm just assuming there might be.

I don't think he extended cut is only 3 minutes longer, they have a bunch of deleted scenes in it that are atleast 3-5 minutes, so I'd say its about 15 minutes longer. I think I read it's 97 minutes, the directors cut is 82. So there's a big chunk of scenes that we haven't seen inside the movie, unless you count watching the deleted scenes on the DVD, which I want to see them inside the movie.
I don't think Toxie 2 and 3, have deleted scenes, since all the deleted scenes in Toxie 2, was used for Toxie 3. There's no way you can just watch them back to back and they match, I would think the intro to Toxie 3 would be the original intro to 2, then he tells the story, and it ends with him at the video store about to leave to fight the devil.

So I have to ask one thing. How Adult is the Toxic Avenger? Like is it just Evil Dead Adult? Or is it NSFW Adult? The thing is, Youtube has the movie available and unfortunately, I only have my school computer available to watch it. Should I take the risk?

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
Well I saw The Toxic Avenger on my phone (yeah I know, first class viewing right?
) and...my opinions are pretty mixed. On the one hand I enjoyed watching and there were some parts that made me smile but on the other hand, I thought it was a bit too stupid. What I mean is, I knew it wasn't going to take itself very seriously, I knew it would be a little goofy but this movie really pushed it.
Maybe it's because I haven't really seen a TROMA film before but I was expecting The Toxic Avenger to be more like Evil Dead 2 or maybe even Darkman, you know a film that had goofy moments but still took itself a little seriously. That's not the case here, it's very over the top in it's humor which I don't think worked. The movies premise could have worked with a more serious tone but instead they decided to go with a more silly tone. I mean sure, some gags were funny but overall they really overdone it. However, it could be because I just set a pretty high list of expect ions that the movie could not hold up to, I mean this is a B movie of course, maybe I'm just being unfair.
One thing I was impressed by were the makeup and special effects. Yeah, they may not be high quality but they did get the job done and looked pretty damn good.
Overall I did enjoy Toxic Avenger don't get me, I just wanted it to take itself more seriously than it did. Plus the acting, while nothing oscar worthy is also enjoyable and the characters are entertaining albeit 2-dimensional.
I'd give a 3.5/5. Not horrible, I just didn't think it's tone worked very well.

You know, it's not really supposed to be a "likeable" movie. It's supposed to be offensive and outrageous and off the wall, balls to the wall. That kind of thing. That's the thing about Troma, they're tasteless and trashy-- you either get it or you don't.

Yes but why did it have to be so silly? I'm ok with tasteless movies but not if the movie treats itself like a Saturday morning kids show because that can be really distracting, especially when its trying to be offensive.

Everyone should like Toxic Avenger, and not to start watching with high hopes of a Sam Raimi film. Toxie was made before actors were created, Lloyd Kaufman is a genius and so are his movies. Thats the thin with a Troma movie, if you watch it and hate it, you will always remember it.

Well, I watched it again, this time without any expectations and I have to say, I enjoyed it more. It may be silly and stupid but then again, it's supposed to be those things and I finally realized that when I did a second view. I have to say, it is more enjoyable when you don't have expectations for it. So yeah, I now give it a 4/5.

I'd suggest watching Nuke'em High next. But if you watch Toxie 2, your exectations have to be realy lowered, and not really high, as the sequels went into a whole other direction. Toxie sounds like a Ninja Turtle, his gfs name is Clair, less violence, and more slapstick. Though I still enjoy them(hated them hen I first saw them) I respect the changes now and see that they were just trying to play the Hollywood game since WB(Lorimar at the time) actually distributed the toxie2. Same with Nuke'em High 2, but after seeing Toxie 2, i knew what to exect from Troma sequels. Toxie 4 went back to its roots, even Stan Lee narrates the beginning stating "two rotten sequels were made sorry about that...This is the real sequel!" But they will never be as good as the first one.
Hell Toxie i even spawned two Marvel comics lines, a children cartoon series Toxic Crusaders, toy line and video games (or as Lloyd Kaufman said, there were nintendo's of Toxie)

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
Class of Nuke'em High is awesome, but personally-- I thought the third one was the best-- maybe that's just me, but I really liked it. I'd also suggest Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and Sgt Kabukiman: NYPD.
Redneck Zombies and The Last Horror Film are okay, nothing special, pretty much because they weren't made directly by Troma, but on the other hand, Combat Shock and Mad Dog Morgan (the latter starring Dennis Hopper as Morgan) were made without the influence of Troma and they're phenomenal movies, both of which are not in the least bit trashy, but well told, serious down to earth stories that I might even call Oscar worthy. Then there's Cannibal! The Musical, also known as Alferd Packer! The Musical, which was made without any influence by Troma in 1992 and finally found a release through them in 1996, this one's amazing, it's made by and stars the people who created South Park.
At the end of the month, I'll be buying Terror Firmer and Troma's War (the Tromasterpiece Collection), neither of which I have seen, but have heard good things. War was Troma's highest budgeted film, costing seventeen million dollars to produce. Terror Firmer is a movie about a Troma-like film company starring all the Troma regulars, so I think I have to see that.
This is my Troma collection, or rather how it will look at the end of the month...

(and a myriad of other fine Troma films)
Terror Firmer - Two Disc Uncut and R-Rated Two Disc Special Edition
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead - Egg-sclusive Three Disc Edition
Tromeo & Juliet - Two Disc Tenth Anniversary Edition

So should I watch Nuke 'em High next or anything else?
Isn't this a little feminine?
Yes. I know. It was my ex wife's.
But you wear this stuff?!
Yeah on an occasion we have a date.

If you want, yeah. I mean, it's basically just the same type of thing, but at a high school. Personally, I'd watch Toxies 2 and 3, next.

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
I'd say watch Nuke'em High then Toxie 2 and 3, but be warned they are extremely different. Actually you might like 2 and 3 better, but like I said, 3 was made with left over deleted scenes from 2, which is why it really doesn't have any plot. But thanks to voice overs, Toxie narrating everything, it was easy to follow.
I have the Nuke'em High boxset, it's not all that ultra rare. It was for a time, but i think they released Nuke'em high 3 on a single DVD so it lowered down a bit.

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
In order of my favorite Toxie films, I'd say it goes like this...
1. The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie - Why? The opening scene, the "video store massacre" is the coolest thing I've ever seen and if you're not hooked on the movie after that, you don't have a pulse.
2. The Toxic Avenger Part II - Toxie takes Tokyo, raids a bathhouse and learns sumo wrestling. It beats out the first movie for me, but only slightly.
3. The Toxic Avenger - A modern classic, plain and simple, down to earth, ridiculously funny and delightfully retarded, overly violent and obscene in every way. A masterpiece of trashy cinema.
4. The Toxic Avenger Part IV: Citizen Toxie - This is my least favorite of the series, I'm not sure why, but the fourth movie has never clicked well with me. I think they tried having too many characters in one movie at the same time.
As for the Nuke'em High flicks, they go like this...
1. Class of Nuke'em High 3: The Good, The Bad and the Subhumanoid - Why? Two words: BRICK BRONSKY. He steals the show as not one, not two, but three characters in this movie. It's just plain awesome.
2. Class of Nuke'em High - The original classic, originally just titled Nuke'em High, Lloyd Kaufman heard a movie called Class of 1984 was popular at the time, so he changed it to its current title in hopes of people confusing the two.
3. Class of Nuke'em High 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown - A solid movie, and I admit, it's great-- but it's got a worse case of ADHD than a proverbial squirrel* that's smoked a fat bowl of crack after drinking a twenty-four pack of monster while eating a six pound bag of M&Ms...
*And that squirrel is Tromie! The giant mutant squirrel from the movie.

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
I like the Toxie movies in the order they were released, but sometimes I just find myself more fond with Toxie 2. I agree with 4, it's just too much. I have the Toxic Tunes from Tromaville and at the end Lloyd said in Toxie 4 he was going to run for congressman, and his wife was prenant. I think the name was originally going to be called a Fist Full of Toxie, as well. I'm glad we didn't get that. in a Tromaville times it said someone else was going to direct Toxie 4. But I think Lloyd learned his lesson with having others direct his franchises. I did however like ho they made Kabukiman a drunk because his movie bombed, and he didn't get a cartoon series, or all the fame they wanted him to have.
I can't wait for Toxie 5, I dunno what's going to be in it, rumor has it a character from toxic crusaders will be in it. Will it be Nozone? or could it be Dr. Killemoff? We'll have to find out. I'd realy like to see the return of both characters to be honest.
Nuke'em High though is a different story. Mine would go Nuke'em High 2, 3, then the original. When I first saw Nukeem High 2, I was just blown away. Brick Bronsky is awesome, and he is an icon. (looking at him now, he would have been perfect as Prince Adam, and He-Man, same voice as Adam and he wears pink) I really like how he's supposed to be ahunk, but everyone thinks he smells, and he's a loser in the film. I'm so glad Troma found him to do a cameo in Nuke'em High 4. Lloyd asked where to find Brick and I tweeted him the studio he runs and what not after doing research, so it could possbly be part of my help.

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
Well, I've decided to buy more Troma films this month than I had originally planned. I'll be picking up copies of Terror Firmer, Troma's War, Rabid Grannies, Surf Nazis Must Die, Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD and Killer Condom, in addition to the others I've picked out, all of which will be delivered to me sometime at the beginning of the month, depending on how bad this "FrankenStorm" is going to be... so I should have lots of movies to keep me company this hurricane season.

Cool I once bought a Troma VHS lot on ebay, had like 50 tapes sadly i had to sell a lot them.Mostly they were all ons I never watched or never would have. Out of the ones you just bought I'd say the Lloyd Kaufman ones are the best, next to Surf Nazi's. Rabid grannies is terrible, and I haven't seen Killer Condom.

Re: Official TROMA Films Thread!
Chad must have this...thanks for sharing, I didn't think Lloyd meant that it was coming this fast. This is awesome news.
Oh I have the gold vesion of Toxie, it came out when I graduated and I bought it right after my graduation seramony. It's really nice, the widescreen transfer sucks on widescreen tvs though, it's like the SMB movie. But the bonus features are good, it even has an exclusive interview with Michael Herz. The ending of the interview is very funny too. Joe Flieshaker who was Michael Herz in Tromaville Cafe comes in and yells him to get out of his seat.
Also I read some sad news about Troma star Joe Flieshaker, here is a link to his hand written letter that can be found on the troma site.

I have so many copies of Toxic Avenger it's so unreal. I have
Toxic Avenger Lightning Video
Toxic Avenger Beta Max
Troma Team Video R rated version 1993
Troma Classics Toxic Avenger VHS
Toxic Avenger VCD
Toxic Avenger regular DVD and Golden Edition
soon to have this version. All I need is a LD version and an actual film print which that would never happen and I think it'd be complete. Not counting the foreign releases.

Poor old Joe, I know what he's going through. I used to weigh close to 400 pounds, myself-- it wasn't fun and it took its toll on my health. I've lost over 200 pounds since last year (I had a gastric bypass surgery.), though. I'm now about 180-190 pounds. He says in his letter he's lost 150 pounds since admission to the hospital-- that's unusually fast, and if he weighed 500 pounds between then and has lost 150 since, he's around 350, now. Well, my thoughts and prayers are with Joe, he's a talented, funny guy and he's always the life of a party in any scene in any Troma movie he's in. I hope he doesn't end up like Pat Ryan, who we lost all too soon...

I think everything Joe has been through with Troma he will be okay. Joe seems like a really fun guy, and I really love what he has done with his characters in movies. He is a true movie star, forget Hollywood celebrities, he is a true one. Pat Ryan actually had lypo suction which could be something to do with his health, not sure though if that would be the case. I didn't mean to bring you down over Joe either, i just think anyone a fan of Troma movies should know about his health. I'm really glad he's doing something about it. But in the behind the scenes of Poultrygiest, he could barely move, walk, when he fell off the toilet they had to use a stunt double cause his heart was hurting. On the bluray they have a bonus feature of him in his hous, and he just sits on a chair, and using a grabber thing. It was realy depressing to watch cause he just so awesome. But like I said, if he can deal with Lloyd Kaufman on a troma film, he can make it through.
Did you ever watch the behind the scenes of Toxie 4? He shows a old image of himself as a teenager and he was real healthy, but he said he drank 2 liters of soda a day, and eat boxes of donuts, once college came he said all the weight came to him and he couldnt use the bike anymore and just decided to get fat.
