So yeah. I also had an idea. Well... I had an idea years ago that has evolved dramatically.
I want to make a series of live action shorts set to music. Mostly remixes of game music. Most of all, i want it t be fun. Fun for the actors, fun for the director, and of course fun for the viewer. I want it to feel like you're playing a game while watching a movie... If that makes any sense.
The story will be more like New Super Mario Bros. In that... there will be little to no story. Just entertainment.

The plot:
Short 1: Intro-abduction
Mario and the Princess are out for a walk together. Mario has a ring in his pocket. Just as he's working up his nerve to make his proposal, a commotion is heard and Mario goes to investigate. Meanwhile, the Princess is captured in Mario's absence. Mario gets a hold of Luigi and they both take off in different directions.

Short 2: Super Jumpman
We follow Mario on the path he took. He's done this a dozen times over. He runs jumps, and somersaults over enemies. He's so well versed at this point that he hardly seems to be trying and even appears to be enjoying the exercise. His carefree nature shows through as he energetically stomps his way through tons of small-time baddies. He comes to a Bill Blaster manned by a Hammer Bro. The blaster fires off bullet bills at Mario, whom sidesteps and flips out of the way of the projectiles. He presses through the cannon-fire and oncoming hammers until he gets to a block. He grabs a fireflower from it and unleashes an enormous flare on the Hammer bro. The hammer bro falls and Mario ventures onward...

Short 3: Green 'Stache
Luigi's path has taken him deep into a dark wooded area. Enemies lurk all around in the shadows. Boos, Troopas and regular goombas are all around. He cautiously makes his way through. His nature showing much different from his brother. Far more reserved and laid back. This grim situation doesn't suit him well. He's sweating and constantly looking over his shoulder. Enemies follow close behind. Inching closer as Luigi tries to increase his pace through the thick wood. Finally, a number of them pounce at once. The light coming through the trees suddenly seems to go negative as Luigi breaks into an outlandish dance. His enemies are reduced to slow motion and disorientation. Luigi's face turns to an expression of pride as he looks at his would be attackers. He steps towards them, then the last thing we see is Luigi exiting the forest and meeting up with Mario.

Short 4: Bowser
The Princess is delivered to Bowser's castle. They exchange glances and she is taken to the dungeon. Now there is a short history on Bowser. Showing his roots. Bowser as a child. His father groveling to the mushroom king. Apparently his clan is subservient at this time. Young Bowser and his family are warriors for the mushroom king. Bowser grows stronger through the years. Rising to a powerful position in the military. His father continues to humble himself before a king that Bowser sees as weak and unfit to rule. His father sees his arrogance and denies him ascension to the head of the clan. Bowser kills his father and takes control of the Koopa. His men steal the princess for the first time. When it appears he will triumph at last, a man in overalls appears... Back to the present. Bowser has been contemplating. He now has his own son, Junior, the spitting image of his younger self. They both turn suddenly towards a sound. Bowser goes to the window and sees. Mario and Luigi have arrived...

Character profiles

Mario:
height: 5' 7"
weight: 150 lbs
hair: brown
eyes: brown
appearance: relatively short when compared to other characters. A gentle face with a curly mustache. His build is not quite athletic, but his strength and agility are supernatural.
Personality: Happy. Carefree. Brave. Enjoys a good Go-Kart race. He has serious feelings for the Princess. But that is the only time he is reserved and shy. He wants to propose to her, but is afraid of her answer. Very generous and thoughtful. He would trust his younger brother Luigi with his life. His carefree attitude is what produces his heroism. He will never hesitate to help someone, be they friend or stranger.

Luigi:
height: 5' 11"
weight: 180 lbs
hair: brown
eyes: green
appearance: Taller and slightly lankier. Luigi is strong, but lacks some of his brother's prowess. However, he has certain unknown skills that make up greatly for this.
personality: The somewhat more serious brother. He will help Mario without a second thought, but he might just rather stay home and mind the plumbing shop. He has a crippling fear of ghosts that sometimes may hinder him, but he is able to overcome it when the situation is dire.

Princess:
height: 5'8"
weight: (that's hardly polite to ask)
hair: blonde
eyes: brown
appearance: The fair maiden dresses in a pink and lavender dress for almost all occasions. She wears a small tiara on top of her golden locks.
personality: Very charismatic and sociable. She frequently makes public appearance within the kingdom and in events outside of it. She has deep feelings for her constant rescuer Mario, but is afraid her strict lifestyle will put off the fun-loving man.

Bowser:
height: 6'1"
weight: 230 lbs
hair: blonde
eyes: cold
appearance: a physically imposing man. Barrel-chested and broad. His skin appears to have a strange greenish hue about it. His teeth are filed down to points to increase his intimidating presences, and his eyes have a wild ferocity to them. He often wears parts of his armor to show off. A pair of spiked shoulder pads, an armored gauntlet and a carapace-like armored shell on his back.
personality: Arrogant and violent. He will dispose of those who stand in his path, including his own father. However, his quick temper and beastly attitude mask a hidden calm. A reflective and cunning man with years of battle experience.
