Ok so all this talk about remaking the movie and what not, I am finally deciding to bust out my year old 5 minute pitch for a story of a remake. As I've stated before, if I was to remake the movie I wouldn't use anything that deals with the original 93 movie, that alone is it's own franchise and movie. I guess you could call this my outline, but I have storyboards along with it.
The story:
The Mario Bros are called in for a job at a construction site. There was an earth quake in Brooklyn, causing all kinds of pipes under the road to collapse. The Bros. jump on the job and drive to the site. Stanley the Foreman (actually taken straight out of SMA) shows the Bros. the damage. It's a cluster of pipes, Stanley leaves the two boys to do their job, while working they find a giant pipe, the sound of a young girl is screaming "Help!" Mario doesn't hesitate, he grabs Luigi's arm and jumps in the pipe, taking Luigi along with him.
We are now in the Mushroom Kingdom, a lonely cloud in the sky suddenly sprouts out a pipe and, the Bros come falling right out of it. Meanwhile down below King Koopa/Bowser and, his Koopa Troopas, are moving in and planning on attacking Princess Peach and the Mushroom people. Bowser is about to latch onto Peach, when Mario falls and bounces off of Bowsers head. Mario lands in a patch of fire flowers.
Peach explains to him really quick about a prophecy involving Mario and a green man to save their Kingdom. She explains to Mario because he is a chosen warrior, he can gain super powers from certain objects, including Fire power from the flowers. Mario stands up and starts to power up his fire strength. Out of nowhere a loud scream is heard, Mario looks up and sees Luigi coming out from the sky, (Luigi was suddenly abscent for this reason), Luigi smashes Bowsers face with a giant mallet. Luigi yells to Mario now is the time to unleash his new power. Mario puts his hands out, powers up his fire ball, and unleashes one giant fire ball at Bowser. Bowser is burnt to a crisp, but in a cartoonish fashion the black ash fall of. He looks straight ahead and sees the Mario Bros guarding Peach and her people. He has no other choice now but to pull out a SMB2 potion, throws it and a warp zone is created. He jumps into the warp zone, and that's the end of him for now.
Peach thanks Mario and Luigi for all the bravery, and offers them to stay in her Kingdom. The Bros think about it, but when she says they can have all the free pasta they want, they suddenly agree to the offer. They all walk into the sunset.
THE END?!
Now that is my outline, as a pitch of course. I wouldn't do anything beyond that. But now I include storyboards, sorry if they are kind of small, I honestly had no choice.
I hope you all enjoy this, I'm not 100% sure if I'll animate it, but I would really like to. It's all a matter of time and what not, and working on my own projects. I have character sheets made, that can be made into symbols in no time.
