Super Mario Bros: The Next Adventure (Animated Series Idea)

For a while I've been thinking about doing a fan screenplay thing for a possible animated series based on SMB. Basically it's like The Real Ghosbusters however instead of guys fighting ghosts, it's about the Mario Brothers fighting Koopa and his army. Here's my entire concept in it's glory:
Name: Super Mario Bros: The Animated Series
Genre: Action/adventure/comedy.
Rating: Y7.
Plot: After the defeat of Koopa, Mario and Luigi have gone back to brooklyn to live normal lives once again...for about a week. Apparently during that time, most if not all of the slime (Koopa's remains) was collected and brought to the very threatnening and mysterious Bowser, an evil being who was mostly never seen (only his shadow, eyes, and hands are shown). After re-evolving Koopa, Bowser made it distinctly clear that Koopa was under his control now and that he were follow orders and do nothing else.
However, as soon as Koopa's return was notified, Daisy returned to New York, to get Mario and Luigi and, after a couple of events later, the Super Mario Brothers were back in action. However this time, they weren't alone. Along to help, were Toad, Yoshi, Iggy, Sike, and (occoasionally) Big Bertha. And that was basically the plot of the series. The Mario Bros and friends fight off the forces of Koopa and Bowser to try and keep the freedom Dinohatten had only required for a week.
Locations:
Dinohatten: The main location of the show, this was where most of the action and shennagins took place. Dinohatten is basically a spiked up version of New York.
The Desert: A big chunk of the Dino world, the desert is a wide vast land that manages to make a couple of appaerances in some episodes. A few chase scenes were featured in the Desert.
Koopa's lair: An abandoned police station turned evil base, Koopa's lair is the main hiding spot of Koopa and his disposable minions. The lair is usually shown when of the heroes are kidnapped, otherwise it's mostly just mentioned.
Bowser's lair: The most mysterious and creepiest location of them all, Bowser's Lair has questioned many people including Koopa, no one really knows where it's located, Bowser has made sure to keep his location a secret and he did a damn good job of doing so. What's even creepier is that no one except Bowser and his own line of minions know what the lair looks like.
Sometimes a wall will sneak it's way into frame but either you wouldn't think it's a wall or you'd probably be focusing on the scene instead of the backgrounds.
The Mario Brother's Lair: The second main area of the show, The Mario Brother's Lair is an average sized cave that's just outside of the desert. The Mario's Lair is also known to be extremely dangrously as it has several hazards like pointy, rocks, bats, and lava.
Weapons:
The Devo Gun: A black, super scope like gun that could de-devolve almost anything living until it's nothing but smoke, fog or slime. The most commonly used weapon.
The Fire Flower: A green, flower like flamethrower that can shoot an unlimited source of fire balls. Iggy, Spike, and Toad only use this gun.
The Bob-omb: A small black toy-like bomb that after being wound up would cause epic explosions that rival nuclear explosions.
Mushrooms: Small little objects that could shield devo gun exposure and fireballs.
Red Mushrooms: Small little objects that could deflect devo gun exposure and fireballs.
Characters:
Mario: One of the main characters in the series. Mario is often sarcastic and is very cynical. He appears heroic but only when convinced to be. Mario is only interested in common sense and his girlfriend Daniella. Mario is the best driver of the bunch and is good at cracking jokes.
Luigi: Mario's brother and another main character in the series. Unlike Mario, Luigi is more open minded and could believe in anything. He's a bit kinder than Mario and would always try to do the heroic thing instead of the smart thing. He's more optimistic and always focuses on the bright side of things.
(more to come.)
