Can anyone tell me what kind of hat Mario wears in the movie? is it a beret? Or is it a flat cap? I cannot find either of them in the right color. Also, what are they wearing? Are they jump suits or coveralls? These are important questions for a live action project I'm doing.

I believe the type of hat Mario wears is a classic "driver's cap." And their outfits, while described as "coveralls" in the scripts, are more like jumpsuits.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

They can also be called golfer hats, newspaper boy hats, or burret. Id suggest typing red paper boy hat or red golfers hat, that's how I found mine.

A credit or debit card linked to a bank account with enough money in it, or a PayPal account with the sufficient funds.

You can try thrift stores or other outlets. Surely one place nearby might have the type of clothing you're looking for. It doesn't even have to be bright red as burgundy or another shade might be more suitable in a live-action project. Mario's red/blue color scheme is just too cartoonish to work in actual clothing, after all.

Re: Like Mario's! (Costume Project)
very true, but what I had planned for the suit was, order a red colored jumpsuit from ebay or something or other, cut the sleeves off of them, buy a blue jacket, cut the sleeves off and sew them onto the arms, same goes for the pockets and color, though I would just put the color OVER the color and pockets instead of removing it all over again and wasting good material, same goes for the green one
