Double-Meaning Poem

[Reptile-Queen-Daisy]

(Okay. This poem has both a personal meaning and is also another reminiscence of Daisy about her mother.)

Though you wandered by every night,
the idea of you being that watchful light
never once crossed my mind.

Then suddenly, one night, you came again,
slipping into my dreams from beyond,
passing by me clear as day and sparking
a desire in me that demanded answers.

Minute after minute, I searched,
till at last my efforts brought reward
and suddenly all was clear.

It was you passing by each night,
trying to tell me you had never left
and perhaps...just perhaps..
you were wishing me good night.
