Cartoon-Style Stills

Postby ultimateemail5000 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 2:08 am

So I was tinkering on the prologue to my cartoon, and stopped for a while, I wanted to draw a scene from th Mario movie but in cartoon form. So I came up with this

It's the same picture as the keychain I posted in another thread. I'll probably do more of these, they are fun to draw.

I sketched this out with the bros in their jumpsuits, but then I wanted this to kind of take place when they arrived at Dinohatten, so in the end, I colored in the sketch, and traced over it better and inked it. So before and after.

Here are some facial exressions of Mario with hat and not

Hey, very nice! It's good to see stuff related to the movie.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

Thank you I will probably do more work in this style, I found drawing these to be very fun. I'm gonna say, I tried drawing Luigi but I can not figure out what I want his face to look like. Mario's is easy to draw, maybe cause he's bigger than Luigi. Drawing these guys is very fun and I do enjoy it.

Great work, UE! I could really see these designs being used for short animation tests. Little comedic skits involving the characters and scenarios from the movie. :P

I was thinking that too. I'd really like to animate some deleted scenes, in this style. I think it would be really neat to see some of the lost scenes animated and inserted into the movie.

Wow that's so weird seeing that first one, I forgot I even did that.
