Super Mario Bros. 2: The Comic

With the near limitless sequel potential the first movie set up I've been kickin' around this storyline for some time now. This a would-be 6 issue comic series but I'm still tryin' to work out an art style that would suit the tone. Well let me know what you think of the plot, I tried to base it off of SMB2.
Picking up exactly where the film left off, Mario and Luigi follow Princess Daisy back to Dinohatten to offer their aide. It is explained that in the three weeks following the plumbers’ initial visit to the parallel dimension, a log kept by Bowser Koopa revealed a hidden weapons factory somewhere in the vast desert that makes up most of the planet. What rises interest is that not only is this base still operational as knowledge of Koopa’s demise has yet to reach it but it is located in a vast oasis filled with all the natural resources the people of Dinohatten require. A shortcut directly to the base was discovered but was damaged in an explosion. This is where Mario and Luigi come in as the shortcut to the base was part of the Warp Pipe system, Daisy would seek the plumbers assistance in repairing the link and liberating the trapped workers in the base codenamed SUBCON.
The task of repairing the Warp Pipe system proves no difficulty for Mario and Luigi and the gang, now including a re-evolved Toad and Yoshi, soon set forth on their mission. Upon arriving in SUBCON they find things in complete chaos, the scientists have gone completely mad with the heat and isolation, Shyguys begin acting like children and Snifits equip their masks with Bullet Bill firing weaponry all in the name of destructive fun. The whole operation is controlled by the man hand-appointed by Koopa himself, Mouser, who is in turn influenced by a simple frog that, in Mouser’s mind, takes on the form of an all-knowing king named Wart. Mario and friends soon learn that the people of SUBCON have been plotting to overthrow Koopa in a violent take over and name Wart the ruler of the world. It’s up to Mario, Luigi, the Princess, Toad, and Yoshi to destroy the weapons factory before any more harm can fall on the people of Dinohatten.
