Anyone up for a remake?


Okay, the poster needs reworking as some of the credits are wrong. I will start filming it next month and it is due out next year. I am aiming for a PG-13 like rating.

More info:
It will be a much darker reworking of the original film and it will be truer to the games.

EDIT:
Here's a list of characters due to appear in the film:

Mario (Pretty much the same as the original, but not as old of a guy)
Luigi (He has a mustache now!)
Princess Toadstool (yes, her name is still going to be Daisy)
Emperor Bowser Koopa (He is a turtle creature this time around, thank God)
The Koopa Troops (No, they are not referred to as Goombas in this one)
The Goombas (no small headed tall freaks this time!)
Hammer Brother (Our answer to Daredevil's "Bullseye")
Dr. Lakitu (A corrupt Koopa Scientist)
Spinies (Dr. Lakitu's weapon of choice. They are splatterable, fist-sized spiked bugs)
Piranha Plants (Most dangerous animal to exist in the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms - you should know what they are)

ANOTHER EDIT: The movie actually has no set release date. We need more time for development. And it will be around 2 hours in length.

I'm intrigued by this project.

This has really caught my interest... That sounds like a pretty nice idea you've got there. Now this is something I'd like to see.

I now have pretty much everybody cast (I cut Hammer Brother's character, but I promise he'll appear in the sequel) and the script is being written.

Sure, just start posting ideas! I already have two script writers (a guy on the I, Mario boards and myself) so there's still room to join.

Excellent! I'll PM them to you. First, though, could you PM me the basic plot so I can tell whether or not my ideas will fit in?

Ive waiting for this for a while and even offered my service of editing/color grading, but they didn't respond. Is this project dead? Because there is a shortage of mario fan films, espically good ones, and I want to see this.

Ah, no it isn't. I forgot my username on here and I really don't have much to update. I'm recasting actors at the moment after many backed out.
