Here's one idea I made:

SMB II: Evovled Nightmares

Mario and Luigi are brought back by Daisy for a completely different reason. (Mario: Well this ain't what I expected.") During those couple of weeks many people of Dinohatten have been bewitched by some hypnotic technology. The source comes from an arcade oddly named "Minus World" which has at least 20 games in total. Mario, Luigi, and Daisy go to investigate the strange arcade which oddly enough is filled with the same game called "Dream Enthusiast". Mario and Daisy want to leave but Luigi, is somehow intimidated by the game's design.

Mario warns Luigi not to play but of course Luigi asks Mario for a quater anyway. Mario then hesitates as Luigi grabs the wallet, gets out a coin and puts it in. The main title screen shows and then the Bros and Daisy listen to a beautiful and hypnotic tune that makes them feel sleepy. Mario, Luigi, and Daisy then quickly fall asleep only to instantly wake up. They wonder why they fell alseep and woke up again so quickly.

But Daisy look outside front doors to find nothing just a blue sky with clouds hovering below as the sun shines. TheBros. then look only to turn back to the game when a pixelated voice says "Press Start, please." Luigi opts to do so when Mario cuts in and says its too suspicisous and that the last thing they need is to get into more trouble. But Mario hears a sweet sound saying "Do it Mario. What's going to happen." Mario fully enchanted by the voice presses the button. The arcade then gets replaced by a door where above the sign says enter.

Daisy then looks at the door and asks in amazement how that got there. (She was not paying attention due to her looking outside.) Mario then looks at them both and slowly opens the door. Mario, Luigi, and Daisy suddenly fall into the door that is completely black as if the were pushed. Mario then hits the ground but wakes up a couple minutes later and realizes he is inn some big enndless desert with mountainess horizons in the far backgrounds. Mario then gets congratulated by an unknown voice from nowhere saying that he has entered SUBCON.

An entire world full of beautiful landscapes, and more. The voice explains that he is Wart, the main programmer of this. Mario, infuriated demands that Wart let him outta this world and bring him and his friends back to Dinohatten. But Wart explains that the only out is to win. Mario is then told that he has to first get across this desert and into the castle that's about 56 miles from here to get to the next level.

Mario, even more angry demands why Wart has to put them through this. Wart's only reply is "Have Fun." And then Mario hears no more from Wart and begins his quest to fufill Wart's crazy demands, find Luigi and Daisy and get outta here.

What do you think? Tell me your honest opinion.

Loos like this is "Super Mario Bros. meets Tron.

But overall, it's good story

Well that's mostly because this is only a summary, basically this is like a paragraph of a much bigger version. Its actually so big I might make it into a fan fiction. Trust me there is so much more to this summary than just being a Tron ripoff.

You'll soon...in about 5 years, lol. But I'm actually thinking of making a fan fiction out of this.

That's the perfect way to start a sequel. We haven't waited 18+ years to find out the threat is something obvious... Subvert Mario & Luigi's (and the audiences') expectations. Have fun with it.

Honestly, this is a really cool concept. Like incognitus said, it really is like a crossover between our movie and Tron. That's a fun idea that, if handled right, could really make for an exciting continuation of the story. :P

Well honestly, the idea's the the way it is because i wanted it to be original not just Wart is now the new enemy with wario and Waluigi bit. I wanted to develop the idea of dreams from Mario 2 and make it something that Wart has advantage of. Like notice how they fall alseep before they enter SUBCON.

Super Mario Bros. 2 does have a basic concept that could easily be translated into any of a dozen ways for a continuation to the '93 film's concept. It's arguably the best Mario game of the 8-bit era.

Oh yeah, I think that's my favorite old Mario game too! I won it on my Gameboy Advance. 8)

Anyway, I like it except... I don't get this sentence: "Mario and Luigi are brought back by Daisy for a completely different reason." Does this mean that this does or doesn't continue directly off the ending of the movie? I mean, I guess it wouldn't make sense that she would come in with fighting gear and smoke... only to take them to an arcade. :D Sorry, the wording just confused me.
