Blu-Ray Cover Art

I was playing around a bit and came up with this simple concept for a Blu-ray special edition:

Image

Like I said, it's basic--but I think that's all we need. The awesome poster art (sans the clunky neon orange quotes) and the "special edition" text.

What do you guys think?

I have to disagree. The various American release covers may have oversold the concept, but the basic image works. The way Phlibbit trimmed it down to its basic components--Mario and Luigi on the film's classic iron 'M' logo--lends to the believability of the image. I can see this easily being the box art for a future Blu-Ray release of the movie.

Damn, I wish there would be a special edition...but if there ever is A Blu-Ray it's probably gonna be the same ol' plain white bread release of the film...

All it needs is the classic tagline, "This Ain't No Game".

That quote could be placed on the back of the Blu-ray. I really do like that cover too. It's a pity we won't see it for at least a long while.

^Yeah, I can imagine that quote being on the back of the Blu-Ray--many films tend to do that.

I just like this cover art because it's simple and it gets the point across. People that are looking for it are gonna see SMB movie artwork in a Blu-Ray package, and that'll be enough. And it should be enough to pull in non-fans as well.

I kinda wish we could bring out some of the more metallic elements...get the "M" and the title to stand out a little more, get me?

I could see a steelbook version of this with the M or even the title with a good embossing done to it.

Why not using the single "M" like the one wich appears in The Making Of Super Mario Bros.?
I think that "M" will give it a more "epic" touch, but only in "special limited editions"

That would be an awesome idea. It could have a Blu-Ray Steelbook Special Edition.

Sorry for coming in late on this discussion, but I wholeheartedly agree that Disney should release this movie on BluRay with coverart similar to that.

think it looks great! Embossed would be sweet. The blue looks great with the "blu"
