Re: 12/6/10 Fan Art Update
I always find great joy in tracking down a new piece of fan art and requesting permission to feature it, but I was especially happy to come across LemonSky's "Resident of Dinohattan" and BlueberrySnow's "Throwback of Dinohattan", which are drawings of something we don't usually see conveyed: the everyday citizens of Dinohattan. Each artist depicted the Dinohattan denizens in a unique way. BlueberrySnow's "Throwback" concept in particular really makes you think how these people live in their world and how Koopa's reign may affect their society and culture. Just really cool, well thought-out work.
Tenshingomamon's "SMB Movie Goomba" depicts the Goomba in such a stylish, intense way. Simple ink-work always exemplifies the simplicity of the Goombas' design and demonstrates just how creative it is. Perhaps the best feature of this rendition is that its teeth and the ridges of its head create an almost crocodilian effect. The danger of such a beast is only heightened by the spikes on the shoulders, which are far more pronounced than those in the film.
It's curious seeing Peach alongside Daisy in operative274's "Princesses of Power" as in the context of the film Daisy was actually intended to be the same character as Princess Toadstool. Still, this complementary piece to operative274's earlier "Movie Mario Bros." is an excellent addition to our gallery and very clever in donning the two girls in electrician's outfits to match Mario and Luigi's plumber attire.
