Underrated Video Games

Postby OniWolf » Mon Sep 03, 2012 7:13 am

Every console has it's main-line of videogames. Our ol' pal, Mario, is one of them of course! But every system has it's masterpieces that just never caught on. Got any specific ones you just love, but aren't so well known?

One of mine would be 'Clash of the Demonhead' on the NES (No, not the band in Scott Pilgrim!). It was a quirky, fun, & unique RPG. It was put together a bit awkwardly, but the pros just overshadowed the cons it had. Another one would be Felix the Cat on the NES, as well. It's an odd title to have on the list, but, I grew up watching the old cartoons, and the game was one of the many decent Mario knockoffs.

I haven't played nearly enough video games to clearly recall many video games that would fit this description, though I can name a few:

Super Mario Sunshine (GCN)

Wild 9 (Playstation)

Skullmonkeys (Playstation)

Oh, man. Super Mario Sunshine. I don't know why so many people called that a bad platformer. I found it better than Galaxy 2, at the least. Shadow Mario was a pretty awesome villian.

I think people just didn't like the voice acting. People wanted voice acting in Skyward Sword, my answer would be, "Take a look at the cutscenes in Mario Sunshine, and say that again."

Tiny Tank on PS1.
What would you do without your big brother?
I'd like to give it a shot and find out.

Batman: Dark Tomorrow for the GCN. I like that game so much I might do a full playthrough and put it up on YouTube at some point.
